yupe, it worked, even cleared the (M) from the autosave file right away, big thanks, i'll keep watch on baka since its the popular one and so will get updates but it worries me a bit since I saw people report baka having issues before me like this, but get "Not a bug" in nexus, that the person just went to the mod you just shared
and it reminds of that time I had with starbounds sayter who litterally called me crazy when I reported a bug and I had to dig tooth and nail for evidence to prove the bug

Trying to add an object to decorate mode but it doesn't show up and I have no experience in all of this but I'm eager to learn :)
wanna point out that other items do show up so it's deffo something about those specific static objects
someone told me it's the lack of collision but I don't know how to add that
I did some fast research as I'll need to do that too. Apparently people been using Vanilla Collision Meshes, putting them in roughly the same position of the modded object and calling it a day.
As from what I've seen we have no way to create collision yet.
To add collision just copy the block or the node you want from one mesh to another, all in Nifskope.
idk how nifskope works but could I in theory give something a hella small collision so we can walk through it? (this would be great for the vines)
You need nifskope if you're going to add collision or mess with meshes in general.
Vines should require physics similar to those plastic things you know? Should be easy using them as a base.
I don't know what is it called, those plastics pieces that you pass through on some doors.

Use nifskope from this mod, which is updated
Look for the .nif file for those plastic stuff, and you probably just need to replace their meshes with the vines and you're good

You could use its collision and physics, probably won't have to do anything else than replace the mesh.
Game now unplayable after update.
All the TGs Galactic Colonies Expanse items I used to build my colony have vanished after the STARFIELD UPDATE 1.11.36 - MAY 15, 2024.
Now when I try to delete the remaining "floating" vanilla items, furniture, decorations, etc., that remain behind, the game crashes.
She gotta update the nifs

It's a work in progress, I am still new to modding and xedit.
I have done some programming in the past but mainly Python and C#, so slowly learning the tools, there has to be a good way I can figure out how to load or automate editing all the interface changes, that's one of the things I am trying to figure out.
probably need to look at fallout 4 guides on how terminals works in CK
you should check out Papyrus scripting language from BGS that is the official supported code language to extend objects in FO4/SKK/SF. Also there is the SFSE that is in the C++ for more indepth access to the game. For Starfield there are no official tool yet, but we are getting close to the release date of the Creation Kit 2 for SF...
That just took up 2 hours rather quickly but starting to make a lot of sense now especially with the underlining oop basis. Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

TankGirl will get to fixing it if needed, try the nif migration tool first. It fixed a lot of my broken mods, including pretty much all the derretech stuff
The Nif tool fixed the mod itself, just didn't know if it was ok to use these mods together if there were conflicts, I know both of them allow you to build mechs and generally add different functions. So far in testing they both work together, just some similar functions like placing of mechs, etc. But together gives the ability to create a crazy outpost/empire.

Thank you! Mostly you need xedit, and inside you create new npc etc, and then you manually place them in some cell, if you want to add new objects you need to create new static objects and place them manually using x y z... and that is massive pain LOL

What is the most reliable M class mod right now? considering im seeing some that require you to type a command before you go about modifying your ship each time

the ones that are basically bat files are reliable for most part because it's just unlocking the ability for the player to use them, the game is already using the parts for ships like the vigilance or the constant

that said don't expect the M class stuff to be peak performance during spaceflight if you build massive ships, I've seen people saying large ships cause framerates to go downhill
Nah im just looking, i saw some decently sized engines to strap to the sides of my ship to make it look a tad better
I mean starfield performance is still abysmal in new atlantis so thats not a surprise from when i started playing
I also dont assume shattered space will give us M class ships anyway

I feel like it was but it got cut, much like other features and quest parts we see are clearly there and set up but not existing
Going through the files in xEdit you literally see where devs put the word "cut"

Skyrim and Fallout 4 cut quite a bit too so that is not abnormal.

I am slowly learning it's less difficult and more tedious with lots of steps involved. If your willing to go through the steps, you can make things happen. I think this is what @old tiger means when he says you can do most things with xEdit as the more I use it the more I can see just how valuable it is and how much you can do with it.
Mail mod is making progress, should have an early alpha soon, still trying to see which quests make sense to have follow ups on but definitely wanted to include this as I thought it would be unique to get mail from across the multiverse.

Sorry to ask this here but - it is slightly technical: Question. I have seen vid inside the temple. The main ring is like fully visible. Mine pulls back but its not the full ring. Is anyone aware of an FOV that increase the Vid pullback scenes ? I like it. Something different anyway.

I like Matilija's Aerospace mod. There is a Cockpit with no lights inside (known if I remember waiting on CK to resolve) see picture. In normal use its basically black inside the cockpit. But with the 1.11.36 update and space ship decoration. I found lights to place inside so I can see without bumping around anymore see Picture. So a useful aspect of the decoration tool. Fixing some low level light areas inside a spaceship is possible now.
Great mods out there. The Normandy SR-2 looks very good. Hoping for more Mass Effect stuff. Interactive Liara / Garrus / Tali... is it possible to give them a voice over like with Legion/Harbinger for Vasco as voice cloning?
anyone know if Star Wars or Dune total conversion mods are being planned? I could see using Starfield as a base but replacing all the planets with those from those worlds. Exploring Endor or Naboo, Arrakis and Caladan etc.
On Nexus mods search on Star Wars. There are plenty of mods for that. Not seen Dune yet. I think modders waiting on CK for creature creations.
Personally, I'd like to know too, I mean, Bonepunk, Radiclown, Crozzbow are essentially doing it already, but I don't know if there is an established project, Discord server or something like that.

CK kit will open avenues for many things. But you still need the other apps to do the mod package. I am sure this is why there are no creature mods made yet for Starfield.

Yes and no, it's possible but extremely tedious, you have to create the custom model, package it, package animations, get the scripts to recognize it, etc. Far easier to add workshop models which is why there are more outpost expansions.
Hoping that June 9th Xbox reveal will mention the Creation Kit we are hoping for. Like the June update package even would be nice. Then I can party. 🎉 Whatever happens I like Starfield. We need CK working and the Modder's working it (closed) find any bugs and are fixed - but it should be good - you would think. 
Just a note - I downloaded Derretech 1.9.2 this morning. I made dinner and reviewed. Derretech updated again 1.9.2 Alpha. Busy person. Does nice mod work.
My pocket theory is that they wanted to release the xbox version with the Creation Club.

Has anyone had any luck trying to get the Craftable Ammo and Utilities mod working? I installed the esm file as directed and edited the ini file as well, but the mod doesnt seem to take effect
Not that mod specifically but one of the outpost mods adds the ability to kinda do this via an ammo vending machine, but the machine is really cheap in that it gives you like 3k ammo for 200 credits so I was looking at patching it as it's very unbalanced.
Three of inquisitors weapon mods come with ammo to make on the industrial workbench. Last I checked. There could be more. Ammo specific to his weapons.
Good morning all, not sure if this is something that is doable, but I would like to see if anyone here is working on Cosmetic mods for space suits that feel more iron man like or Halo Spartan like, also looking for a specific sort of Greek God Battle armor style too.

The worst thing when making armor mods is you have to make morph edits, the best thing when making hardshell armor mods is you don't have to make morph edits🤣
I actually had to ask HooliG4N for permission to use his Pathfinder armor as Exo race skin because I just can't create passable morphs myself😂

One of my biggest regrets is not jumping into modding sooner. Now that I realize how powerful xedit is, there is so much powerful modding that can done even without creation kit. I can only imagine what it will be like when it launches.

I'm using Vortex. I believe NMM issued a notice saying there was a fix for Starfield. Maybe that's why I've been able to mod the game without any issues even though I'm mostly just using HD rework mod and apparel+spacesuit mods

MO2 just seems Primitive compared to Vortex
the internet highly recommended it for Skyrim and Oblivion but I never really got used to since I was already using Vortex. Stayed with Vortex since then. I clearly had skill issues with changing mod managers

There already are several mods for companions, including some customized ones, and the abillity to change character looks. Recording custom voice lines though would take some considerble time although possible even with the modding tools that exist now.
I felt like the ball was dropped when it came to companions in game, they were all good aligned and the fact we only had 4 fleshed out ones was boring, I want a true neutral companion that’ll stick by my side when I go on my murder rampages in large towns

The Elites?
There's two different types of crew you find.
Elites are ones with names and back stories like older BGS games. You can find them pretty much everywhere.
Then there's generic crew. They don't have back stories and just kinda exist as filler with rank 1 skills.

It's likely to get released with creations, last I heard through the grapevine and you didn't hear it from me is there are still some edits under the hood and new creation kit is still getting updated. It's all a good thing though, just needs some time to cook, it will be worth it, better they release it right then release it buggy.

For Xbox Series X starfield, when creations get released, can anyone please make these mods(note- one person does not have to make every single one of these mods/it is up to you how many, If any, of these mods you make): "1. Easier Lockpicking", "2. Easier way to get a ton of lockpicks(cannot remember what they are called)", "3. Way more/infinite carry weight", "4. Vendors have way more gold", "5. Skills challenges either made optional or skills requirements carries over(example- one level of unarmed requires 50 unarmed kills, 2nd requires 100 Unarmed kills and for 2nd level you start with having 50 unarmed kills instead of starting over)" and "6. You can disable the minus exp options(ie- you can use the options to make things easier without getting less exp)"?
Modder question: Can anyone tell us how the collision physics in Starfield .nifs was generated? Or how to format it? Would like to be able to create new .nifs with accurate collision.

there's a lot to unpack - I'm glad tomorrow is a regional holiday where I am, because it means I'll have the whooooooole day to see just what can be done in CK. I really want to find out if we can make our own star systems and/or planets, for instance.

It makes a lot of things easier and less tedious and also releases official support and support for Xbox.
Most of the mods so far have been hacking with xEdit, which by itself is extremely powerful but doesn't have the debugging and 3d object placement and creation abilities of the full creation kit. Creating full planets, quests, and other major changes will now be a lot easier.

When a mod is added to a saved game it duplicates the game and adds an M it warns you
do we know this to be true for starfield or just speculation as other games did this?

For sure. so I removed the sfse args, actually i removed everything in advanced launch options, and when i try to start the game nothing actually opens. the steam "Stop" just turns back to "play". nothing popped up, no game window, nada. does this within 3 seconds
Make sure it's installed to the same drive as the game. It should install into the game directory.

They're going to implement things in ways they know how. Might have to wait for xEdit to update in order to check for conflict resolution between the two if you're going to attempt both.

No such thing as "best". It is subjective. The CK just landed. Read what is fixed and then decide. If people draw lines in the sand with it, then any write about it will be bias. You've gotta read for yourself.
I'll be using the unofficial patch just because I know several of the authors and trust their work, but others might like the fixes in the other better.

So confirmed found the area of the interface if you click on galaxy, there is an option for adding new orbitals to different systems and you can select stars, planets, moons, orbital(whatever that is), and Space Stations.
It's a little bit convoluted to explain in text the fast method is basically to copy an existing planet change up the orbit and biome settings then give it markers to specific cells.. would need a tutorial lol

I like the fact we can add space stations pretty easily as well, one thing I thought was odd that there weren't more of those. Starborn specific space stations here we go!

After I loaded the Starfield data file, I loaced one of the Akila city cells. CK loads new sells as you move into them I think. I just plopped this down near the farms just outside the walls.

We need a written alternate ending for the base game that tweaks how being reborn is. I feel like a great ending is us dying. Reawakening in a different timeline and now it’s ng+. Various storylines, missions, names, ect would all be changed in the new universe.
Another mod that would be extremely useful is a menu to choose which start you get after becoming starborn. A bit annoying when you are reborn and everyone is dead. Got that outcome twice in a row. Only one alive was vasco

I have on xbox series x in order: Unofficial starfield patch, Workbench filter framework (WEEC), WFFC - vanilla reciepes patch, no angry companions, improved follower behavior, Shade's Immersive looting. With out patch, workbench works vanillia, with patch it shows just a blank screen. Is there a reason its not showing a filtered menu?

From what I've experienced from Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE those first few hours of initial release it's only 85 mods then the next day you have no clue where to start because of how many were uploaded that next day.

and since they are all 'new' they dont have the reps added to help widdle them down with

community patch is better
there's gonna be a ton of overlap between the two. there's only so many ways you can fix a typo. im thinking what will differ will be the more subjective 'fixes' and changes. but my understanding is that it will be easier to patch those out of the community patch versus unofficial skyrim one. assuming i wanted to do so.

This is the load order I use and it seems to work with no crashing at all considering my game has not crashed not once yet and I’ve been playing for the last four hours straight without issue.

To be fair it has been like that for pretty much all their games with a modding kit
For who has done the no need to research item requirements: could not complete any with melee weapons. But when turn off. Any mods of weapons or other things completed are glitches saying it needs to be completed even though it's acknowledged it's completed.

For what I can tell if the paid mods are just cosmetic, they go at the very bottom of the list if they’re like DLC content kind of mods will go after anything that changes mechanics and PC skeletons and Game mechanics so they’ll go at the bottom of the list
The game already has an uncapped FPS setting in it. But it requries a 120Hz display to use.

Not sure where to ask, so I thought I'd ask here. Is mod storage linked across games? I look at a mod in Starfield's in-game creations menu, and it shows me that I have used 907.51GBs of space and that I have 23.36GBs of free space left. And I checked Skyrim SE and I see the same thing there. And even though I can't see it in Fallout 4, I have to assume it's the same there as well. I haven't modded Starfield yet. I have a few mods installed for Fallout 4 via B.net, but the total of those mods is 300mbs. I haven't installed any mods in Skyrim except for four Creations and CC content. So, how is it that I used 907.51gbs of space?

You are correct, it is. I have a 1TB SSD. Just deleted BioShock 2, and the used space went from 907.51 to 889.99 GBs used. Looks like I need to upgrade my drive.

...third-party tools cannot be used on any content you wish to put up for sale. For launch, Bethesda Game Studios was able to leverage internal tools to assist with these releases. However, we are working on a better long-term solution, which includes continued updates to our tools and an official Blender exporter. We will share more on toolsets as we get closer to its release

Download and open BAE, drag the starfield meshes file to it to open it, then go to meshes > planets and you will see the models there and you can extract them
its takes a while and it requires to be on the same drive as your game is on

Hey fellas, sorry if its not the right place to ask, but I'm trying to figure out the process of making POI worldspaces, I can see how they are used in planet content manager and so on, however the CK doesn't give me the ability to create new worldspaces? And I cannot dupe them either, it says I am missing things
