#Bonus: Sex Scenes in Film (with Dan Savage)

Did the Hellraiser episode backlash plant the seed for this episode? 😆
Like the "Paul must only have sex in the missionary position and with the lights off" trolling, which was hilariously covered the following episode.
Amy said Kate Winslet has a nude scene after the moment in the car, but it's before. What makes that drawing scene so fantastic is it's the first time Jack sees her naked. It's the build-up you need for the car bit to work.
Bravo @vital kayak for this gif
Figured we should promote safe sex!
Intimacy Coordinators (a position on streaming/movie sets that didn't exist some five years ago) like to use the word "intimate scene" instead sex scene. I think when intimacy is included in the whole framing of this, the whole thing changes
Fun chat, though I wish the movie **Short Bus **by John Cameron Mitchell had come up -- it's the rare film that's actually joyous (and explicit) about sexuality. There are scenes in there which can really test a viewer's limits (the opening scene might push even the most open of minds to clutch pearls,) but it intentionally explores all reasonable aspects of sexuality. And it can be great fun to watch, with a heart at the core that shines through.
Short Bus is probably not an Unspooled pick (though it'd be an amazing topic if they did, and more worthy to talk about IMO than Caligula,) but hopefully Amy Nicholson has checked it out and maybe Paul should check it out too... just not when the kids are still up, and for sure not on a flight .
Excellent recommendation! Short Bus really stuck with me.
