#Tagging OP in Discord when posting reply to issue

Related, though happy to open a second support ticket if need be, the "Manage Issues" permission node. Does that allow anyone to manage any issues, or just theirs? I'd like for users to be able to close their own issues if it has been resolved.
The "Enable Mentions" setting applies for all notification types for Discord, so users should be getting tagged
It's for a user to manage any issues, so they'll see issues submitted by other users
They're getting tagged when requests are available, but at no other time.
Damn. Thanks for that. I'll submit a feature request. ☺️
This is my current settings.
The ability for users to close their own issues does sound useful 🤔
Yeah, saves me having to check in with them, or constantly closing the issue with comment for them to reopen it.
That looks all good
Will have to check how we handle notifications for issues tomorrow, though I don't think it's handled differently compared to how requests are handled
Much appreciated. ☺️
Issues don't get re-opened when they comment on it 👀
Oh. I haven't played with a non-admin account, so I actually have no idea what they see or how it works for them.
You can close it and keep commenting on it - both regular users and admins
But once it's closed, only someone with "Manage Issues" perms or higher can re-open it
Ah. So managing own issues would be beneficial in more than one way. 🤔
Yep yep, kind of how users can delete their own request before it's approved if they change their mind
@sour merlin did you want me to open a bug report for the no tagging as well while I'm at it?
Sorry wasn't able to get back to Discord until now. Looks like you opened one, thank you!
All good. I opened one for the permissions node, but not for the tagging. I'll do the tagging one shortly. ☺️
I'm gonna go check it out in bit, let me do that first then I'll let you know if it's needed
Oh sweet! No worries. 😁
If the user has "Issue Comment" notifications enabled in their own Discord notification settings, they will be mentioned when others comment on their issue. Likewise, users with the management permission will be tagged on new issues being created and comments from users other than themselves.
You screenshotted the system Discord notifications page, which allows you to customize which notifications are sent. Users can then configure their own preferences for when they are mentioned in their user settings.
I've just checked, and that option is already enabled for them. This screenshot is from the user to last lodge an issue, and yet there was no tag on Discord for them.
This is the user who's settings are just above.
That's email settings, not Discord.
🤦♂️ I even looked at that and didn't think anything of it. My only excuse is that I had just woken up. 🤦♂️

Hm, interesting. If the issue OP isn't getting tagged when others comment on their issue, then it's a bug. Added this functionality long ago and haven't looked at it in ages...
(Removed the User ID)
might want to crop your screenshot as well, shows your domain in the url bar
I always thought it weird they didn't get tagged. I figured it would be functionality you guys would've included in it. 🤔
Third time's the charm, eh?
can you also screenshot the user's permissions? i'm taking a look and wondering about something...
(do they have the manage issues perm?)
(or did they when the notification was triggered?)
Alright, on my laptop. Lemme have a look.
That's always been set to off.
(Same user)
hmm
Happy to have a play with my test user if you'd like me to switch perms on and off.
Just to confirm, you are using the Discord agent and not the webhook notification agent?
I assume yes? 😹
I promise I didn't break anything! 😹

I've still got that bug report on Github ready to lodge, if you'd like it. 😹
I'm going to test it out, just need to spin up my dev env
Oooh you know things are getting serious when "dev env" is mentioned. This is why I would never make a good full-time dev. I live dangerously and push my projects live. 😹
Lol I actually had my local repo get corrupted some time ago and haven't been working on Overseerr much since
But hm, I'm reproing this. Wonder why
Urgh. That's always annoying.
But we appreciate the effort!
Ah found the issue. Will open a PR with a fix. Maybe broke when typeorm was updated maybe?
Awwww yiss!!! This is why they pay you the big bucks! 😹
(And if they don't, demand a raise! 😁 )
I'll also add a fix for users not being able to open/close their own issues while I'm at it.
Demand double! 😹
haven't touched the overseerr codebase in ages, I don't even remember writing some of this code lol
some of the notifs stuff was def me
Omg this! I look back at a pay calculator I'm building every now and again and have the same thought. 😹
We'll blame someone else for it breaking.
well, I didn't bump the dependencies
See? 😹
Did you submit the issue on github? I'll tag it in my PR

My cat approves.
@modern chasm so one last random question: any idea when the build will be available to update? 😹
