They're just steam guides, why are you using them as an excuse to advertise your server? awkward Bit weird innit
Specially when you could've just posted what you said in the Feedback forum which is what it's there for, rather than discussions
Not much to discuss over a fact regarding misinformation that the devs should definitely listen to lol

Good lord, a mentor system would be incredible. I'm so new at this game and keep getting destroyed so hard that I have no ability to learn what I did wrong or how I messed up, so I can't correct the behaviors and genuinely GET BETTER. Free Flight is nice, but without the ability to have other players in the mode so you can practice on a real human player (or have them practice on you!) is really harming the new player scene. Without new players who enjoy the time in game, who enjoy learning the mechanics and strategies, the game WILL fail. Why pick up a new game if it has such a bad reputation for new players getting destroyed to hell and back? Why play a game if you'll never have the proper opportunity to get good in a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment?

You're timely. That's true, there is not enough or not at all help for new players and that is kind of bad for a hard to master game as Century. On Discord/Reddit but also in-game. Tutorial is not explaining all the main mechanics and advices to improve and thus many players are quitting during their first games ever. Matchmaking is not that bad in Quickplay, the truth is probably that the very beginners are very far from the skill you acquire during the 20 first playing hours, so they get destroyed and say MM is broken (the difference between 1h of time played and 15 hours is far bigger than between 15 hours and 100 hours for example) . We already internally talked about bettering the tutorial, and maybe modify the way beginners are matched during their first hours. We hope we can do this asap.

About Discord I have to talk soon with the admin team to reorganize it, a tips and tricks channel is part of it. I think it will not be a public-writing one, cause it would be better for all tips to fit in one page so players can instantly see them all. However I still have to find a way to make suggestions public

I think this is a wonderful direction to take! Having such a channel would be a nice starting point for new players. If you really wanted to go the extra mile, perhaps you could sponsor some Century youtubers to make in-depth tutorials on movement, strategy, etc, with a way to track and display their key inputs? That way players can get a much better sense of how things are timed. For example, breaking INTO a turn before booting half-way through it. It took me many youtube videos and more practice in free flight than I'd like to admit to finally understand how I was supposed to turn efficiently 😂

In terms of "new player experience" a bot match would also go a long way, I think. If it's bundled with the first PVE update, that would be a HUGE draw to new players. You and a squad could fight against a team of bots with difficulty levels (novice, adept, master, legend, etc) and several AI modes. Options on the top of my head are "passive" where they just fly around in semi-random flight paths through the map, "Built for Speed" where they won't attack you, but are actively avoiding and evading you with boosts and quick turns, and then "Seek and Destroy" where the enemies go ALL OUT and chase you with boosts and blessings, firing at you with everything they have.

sorry, I know I ramble a bit! But the main thing here is gonna be the choice to practice against bots or against a player in a custom match, with or without a squad, and the ability to fine-tune the training experience. This will allow players to see what they're weakest with and give them a chance to specifically practice it in a way where it feels organic and similar to a real match. This would help the new-player experience ten-fold and make it feel less like they're being thrown to the wolves (thrown to the dragons?) when starting to play against real people in QM or Ranked.

Being bad at the game isn't an issue for new players - it's the lack of an ability to train and get better. Everyone's gonna be at least moderately bad at a new game they're playing for the first time, but without the power to train and get better so you don't get destroyed, there's no real reason to keep playing,
