arg(z+w) = π-α
So when we find tan(π-α)=tan(2π/3) we get the negative of what tanα usually is
But when calculating tanα usually we take the modulus of the lengths
E.g for -2+3i we'd find α by arctan(3/2)
Now if our adjacent is already negative:
tan(arg(z+w)) is negative what we usually have
and (1+5k)/(k-4) is also negative what we usually have because k-4<0
So in a way we've made both terms a negative of what they should be, so they still are equal
Symbolically:
tan(π-α) = (1+5k)/(k-4) = pos./neg. = neg.
-tanα = -|1+5k|/|k-4|
tanα = |1+5k|/|k-4|
Which is what you'd usually expect to do
