volume of spheres past paper question

I worked out the volume of the sphere (180cm^3) because I thought that would be the same as the displacement but it turns out it's not and I don't understand why and what I have to do to get it

well if the water rises

you can imagine the change in volume as like rectangle cuboid above the initial volume

with the same base

but different height

so

change in volume = base x change in height

->

volume of sphere = base x change in height

oh, that makes sense - I thought the displacement would have the same shape as the sphere 😭
