For this question the MS shows a geometric distribution but i used negative binomial, i still get the same answer but is it right or did i get it by flaw

geometric is just a special case of negative binomial with r = 1

and in this question r happens to be 1

so yes both methods are equivalent

yes ur good

although if u do see "until the first (...)" then u should immediately think geometric

it should be easier
