so you know that the completed square form will defo have (x+5)^2
because of the x^2 + 10x right
now if you expand the (x+5)^2
that gives you x^2 + 10x + 25
but we want the last term to be -3 not 25
so subtract 28 from this
x^2 + 10x + 25 - 28
(x+5)^2 - 28
