2c, for each X values, calculate what Y is
and make a new table for Y and their probabilities
2d, use that table to get E(Y) and Var(Y)
E(Y) = E(aX+b) for part 3b
@stuck sigil
So like this for 2c d
ye
Then for 3b it would be like 0 = E(a(3)+b)
right idea, wrong way to write it
0 = aE(X) + b = 3a+b
and gotta do it for Var as well
2
So a^2 = 1 then a = +-1 so b could be -3 or 3?
Nvm would be 1 and -3 since a > 0
Thanks for your help a lot tho @stone berry
@stone berry could u also help me with the bottom question 😭 I don’t understand mean of relationship of x and z
