#similar shapes/cosine
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I was going to use like scale factors
And then I found dc to be 1.06cm but then when I used cosine rule it didn’t work
So idk what mistake I made
Unless dc is 13.616cm but based on the drawing that doesn’t make sense
looking at the entire triangle (ABC), you can get the other 2 angles with sin rule, so DAC should be around 34.7
then you can either split triangle DAC into 2 right angle triangles and get x thru basic trig, or you can get it with a combination of sin and cos rule
x should come out to be around 36.78 or so
Where did u get 15 from
Like the angle
Oh sine rule
Okay thanks
Wait sorry I understood like how to get the 2 angles
But when you say for angle dac
I don’t get it idk why😭
Yo
You got the gen a name
Apply sine rule to find angle PDC, then use sum of angles in a triangle to find angle DAC
Once you found angle DAC, use cosine to find length of CD in the original diagram
