ok so you know PQT and RST are similar, their side lengths of scale factor of 2, since their area scale factors are of 4
lets say the height of PQT is h, and PQ is x
so we know xh/2 = 1 (area of PQT), from the info given in the q
therefore RS = 2x, the height of RST is 2h
we can get the area of the quadrilateral as it is a trapezium,
so the height of it is h+2h = 3h
area of trapezium:
1/2 (x+2x) 3h
which simplifies to 9xh/2
we know xh/2 = 1,
so 9xh/2 = 9
so the total area is 9 i believe?
