#How can i find the surface area of this
42 messages Β· Page 1 of 1 (latest)
pie r squared
that's a circle
model the curve using an equationt
then rotate 360 degrees about the x axis
and integrate
π₯
i think thats the best way to do it but how do i get the equation
Peel it and find the area of the peels
also that finds volume
oh you asked for surface area
hmm
could probably find something in the formula book
pie x a x b
I know how u can find the volume
Using a eureka can
But idk I ainβt done a level math yet ππ
So dk bout surface areas of goofy shapes
I just need to know how much wrapping paper i need. Its a gift for my younger brother for his birthday
π₯π₯π₯
Ik someone was gunna say this
I dont do fm but that potatoe not symmetrical
in the modelling world of maths we assume it is
Physicists would just model it as a cylinder before they've even read the question
pi r squared π
peel it
into a bunch of strips
and measure the surface area of the strips
if you want to go all out you can assume the potato is symetrical and try using this and measure half the length on each axis for a b c
this is just an approximation for an ellipsoid based on the surface area of a circle i think
the actual formula is aids
thats smart
Holy shite
Reminds me of a biology question where you have to estimate surface area of a leaf
