#Anyone help on this year 1 volumes of revolution question
51 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
the answer is wrong
they changed the question but forgot to change the mark scheme
😠absolute idiots
A should be 5
a should be 4
cause youre rotating y axis
you need x coordinates
it intersects at (4,3)
you need y co-ordinates for rotating about the y axis
that will be 0
I get this
But I don’t get the rest…
it says y axis
yes...
so you integrate from y=0 to y=5
But then why do you add the extra volume from the square for B?
the mark scheme is wrong
umm you confused me wrong
When you integrate around the y axis your bounds are on the y axis
I don't think that's meant to be there either
Damn, thanks for the help
they updated the q but just forgot to change a few things
i imagine their intention was for B to be the volume of the cylinder /pi
It looks nothing like the real as 2023 papers question either, it’s so strange
but since you're integrating from y=0 you can't do that
Would you integrate from 3-5 then add the cylinder then?
yeh
So the question is completely wrong lol
yeh
Thanks for the help too @bitter cypress
