Like if the top is 101 and we have 1+x
We want smth that looks like 1.01 or smth right

To actually like deduce it
You can just set the fraction equal to your 1+x / 1+3x
And try solve
So 101/103 = (1+x)/(1+3x)
That’s how to get it every time but as you can see it’s a bit of algebra work
