Have you heard of the remainder theorem?
for a polynomial P(x) if P(x) is divided by (x-a) then the remainder is P(a)
not rlly
can u provide an example?
Substitute in x=-3 to your polynomial
Yes
is there any wrong w what I did here tho
what's up with the x value?
the one i kinda crossed out?
yes
and then subtracted
try it again but put 0 as the coefficient of the missing ones hehe
okay
if you message again i'll likely be in maths but i'll still check (maybe)
@marsh gale how would i do vii and viii?
accidently deleted
using the remainder theorem i got 2a^3
yeahh ur right
how do u use it here
u do the usual method but instead let x = a
so x^3 + a^3 = a^3+a^3 = 2a^3
its my first time hearing of this method too its like 1000x quicker than long division 😭
ohhhh
ohhhhhhhh
thanks man
for viii would it be
let x = -a
x^3 - a^3 = -a^3 - a^3
-2a^3 ?
ah it's correct
NICEEE
cmonn
only just saw this 😭
sorry
