What are u struggling with
PR is the diameter
Therefore it goes through the centre
Triangles that form a semi circle have a 90° opposite the diameter
The diameter is also the hypotenuse, therefore.
Since it's a right angle triangle you use Pythagoras theorem to workout the lengths PQ and QR
Then using these lengths you use Pythagoras theorem once more to find the length PR
Now create a point S at (a, 2)
Join the points PS and SR to create a triangle
Length SR is 2
Find PS using Pythagoras theorem
Add the value for PS to -3, you should get 13
