if x=0, y=1/2
and if y=0
0 = 1/x+2
if i bring x+2 to the other side 0=1
that dont look right
this is how i do it but its a bit weird
imagine f(x) = 1/x
then 1/(x+2) is the same as f(x+2), which is a translation by vector (-2, 0)
so draw the normal y=1/x graph, then bring it 2 units to the left
how do i draw 1/x graph
like its reciprocal
but like
where exactly if u get what i mean
basically, draw the reciprocal graph, make sure it never touches the x-axis or the x=-2 line
x=-2 is the asympotote because if you substitute it
y = 1(2-2) = 1/0 which is undefined
so when i draw the graph can i draw is like wherever on the paper as long as it looks like that?
or do i have to like label smth so they know im drawing a y=1/x graph
ooh wait nvm i see
it doesn’t have to be exactly accurate, but make sure the line follows the shape (also you have to include the intersection points)
its on the -2 on the x axis
okk
so where it intersects the y axis
is 1/2 ?
0.5
yes
