#make x the subject

Both your answer and the videos are incorrect
Unless you meant 9 - (3/y) for the videos, which then it would be correct
i see what you mean changing it to y but it hasent gotten to that stage yet
how did you get 9-
Let’s see your workings, I’ll show you where
- 9 - x = 3/f(x)
Why’d you write that?
swapped the f(x) with the denominator
f(x) is defined as being equal to 3/(9 - x)
You can’t say that the denominator equals f(x) because it doesn’t
i understand what you mean with it being a function however i believe the video isint seeing it like that for now cuz its asking for x to be the subject
- f(x) = 3/(9 - x)
- 9f(x) - xf(x) = 3
- -xf(x) = 3 - 9f(x)
- x = -3/f(x) + 9f(x)/f(x)
- x = 9 - (3/f(x))
Which line
2nd
I distributed the f(x)
- f(x) * (9 - x) = 3
- 9f(x) - xf(x) = 3
Tbf, you could just, LET f(x) = Y. Then do it normally by multiplying both sides by denominator, then it will be like: Y(9-X)=3
Then divide by Y, 9-X=3/Y
Then take away 9, -X= 3/Y -9
Then multiply both sides by -1
X= -3/Y +9
Literally the answer. No other way of doing it
I don't think it's very standard to rearrange with "f(x)" - I think you should use y instead personally
And then since you LET F(x) = Y, switch it back
Wait but, its confusing if you skip steps
We all got different answers
oh alr
I just made it one fraction at the end
