#NEED SOME HELP

You know that when it’s at a maximum, V= 0
Use S = ut + 1/2 at2
It’s a quadratic
Just put V = 24.5
is that for part a)
First part js I didn’t see it
can u check i got 98m for part a)
Yeah it’s right
how about part b) mainly stuck there
but doesnt it start at 39.4 so wouldnt it look like a neg quadratic ?
To get that u just use s = ut + 1/2 at2
It’s projectile
is my u value 24.5
No
so how i use this
So you see my diagram
yh
Where s = 0 is what you wanna find
So treat it as a queadrstic
S = ut + 1/2 at2
And you get 8
V = u + at is used to find when v is first 24.5
negative 24.5 then?
No
oh ok
And do the same to find it for the second half
The thing about projectiles is that there’s symmetry
The time forward is the same as the time backwards
would there be symmetry if being thrown off 98 m to ground tho
The 98 doesn’t matter because from then on it’s gonna be larger than 24.5
So what we wanna find is the time it’s less than 24.5
So we do 8 - 3
And that gives 5
So assume that the origin is the base
yh
Like it’s not on top of a cliff
ok
And with that the projectile will have the same speed initially and the same speed final
By this I mean that when s = 0 where the particle is at s = 0, the velocity are the same
That sounds confusing
ok
Basically 1.5 forward will give 24.5 and 1.5 seconds from t
So we wanna find the time in the middle
so answer is 7 ?
No
Because the total time of that motion is 8
the total is 10 second tho
We don’t include the part below 0
oh
You know when t = 8, the velocity is the initial velocity
S = ut + 1/2 at2
It’s a quadratic
yh what we sub in
Where s = 0
ok
(0)=39.2(t)+1/2(-9.8)t^2
ohhhhhh i get it so u kinda just like rise the floor level to the cliff
and replace ur T
Yeah
damn that smart asl
U can do it where the s is always raised above
But that just makes it harder to understand
ok so answer should be 5
Yeah
thanks a lot if u have some spare time can u look at my other post its the car and trailer one
no real root
See it as a quadratic
Basically the quadratic equation is now -4.9t^2 + 39.2t + 98
And if you make it s= 0 then you’ll find the time it takes to hit the ground
yh u right
