[Not 100% sure on this but maybe change the greater than sign to =0 and solve for x, giving x=a, x=-3, then change the sign back to greater than, x>a, x>-3? Do u have the mark scheme?] ignore
Yeah wait one sec
I c an send u the first part of q as well
Sure
Ig I’m this case you’d use the graph? Look at the roots from the graph you sketched, x=3 and x=a, using this you can see that x lies between x=a and x=3, giving a<x<3
But wb the x< a part
Can u tell me what is x like is it the line ? 💀
oh yeah mb it’s the line
Ok so basically, it’s saying what values of x make the function greater than zero, using your graph you can see that all points before x=3, y>0, you need to use 2 of these inequalities because there are two distinct parts of the curve above 0
Does this make sense?
is there a working out bit
like what do I write?
to work it out
Sorry I hate inequalities
Does it include working out in the mark scheme or just 2 marks for reach answer
*each
No marks for Woking out
Lemme process this one sec💀
Ok then you can solve this equation purely from inspection of the graph
No working out is needed
I can draw it out for you to make more sense
If it’s not a inconvenience or anything pls
I disregarded the part of the graph below y=0 as the function is asking from y>0
OHHH💀💀💀you had to split the graphhhh from where it met 0
Does that make sense now?
Thank you!!
Yeah thanks!
You’re very welcome! Glad I could be of help
