how do i find the estimates to the solutions

when you see the quadratic touching the x axis when y =0

It’s the roots so where the graph touches the x axis giving you 2 values for X

-0.42 and 2.35

And work solutions out from that

Just draw the same graph with every 3 co ordinate being 3 lower

And then u can work out solutions from that

yeah thats what id do then read off the x axis where the line y = 3 cuts the graph.
