Tbh you’ll have hard luck having help with this rn, not a lot of us do OCR and it’s completely different wording than what I’m used to at least
I can help with part c though
yh, can u help with part c pleaseeeee
Yeah of course
So there’s two parts you need to consider : when Q is being affected by tension and then when it is not
It is no longer affected when P hits the ground
So it travels 1.75m up before there is no tension
You need to find it’s velocity at that time
And then do a suvat eq
it would still be affected by tension, wouldn't it...
because its the same situation replicated with p is 1.75. m above ground
Think about it, what would cause the tension?
If p is sat on the ground, what is causing tension as Ps mass and the reaction force from the ground are equal
And P has no acceleration
sorry, the q is asking total distance travelled by q right, so wouldn't that be 1.75...
No it wouldn’t
because when it comes momentarily to rest is when it goes up by 1.75
That’s how far Q has travelled under tension
It comes momentarily to rest above that as it still has acceleration
oh, ok!
