Which arrows are we using, just the black ones?
i assume so
You can see 6 arrows there. When it says "find the vertical and horizontal" it means to use the angles you have to find the vertical component and horizontal component.
to find the vertical and horizontal component using sohcahtoa, you find the sine and cosine of the angles. The way that all of the forces are set up with the angles, sin(angle) is the vertical component and cos(angle) is the horizontal component
Find all of the horizontal and vertical components of each angle. The forces that don't have an angle as they go left or down don't need to be changed. When it says "either add them up or take them away depending on their direction", all you need to do it (for example) say that up is positive and down is negative, then add all of the vertical components that go up, and subtract that by all of the vertical components that go down.
Once you get a result for the vertical and horizontal components, you draw the horizontal force and vertical force as if they are 2 different forces, then combine them for a resultant force
I can go through steps soon just give me a few minutes
Here is my working, it has the first line as the directions that are my positive and negative, next line has the forces drawn separately, next 2 lines are the vertical and horizontal parts to each force, then I have the resultant's magnitude and angle
If you need me to explain anything just tell me
