what e bisects b at (x value)
and the y value
so
TLDR got one part =7/2, NEED TO GET EXPRESSION FOR AREA OF TRAPEZIUM IN TERMS OF C
everything past here i lose confidence with
for me to do that, im trying to find perpendicular distance between lines a and b and then multiply by mean of (a+b)
but then it gets messy
distance between lines a and b using pythagoras uses the last 4 or so images
it is meant to be non calc
and then to find mean (a+b)
to find b, i need to find where b intercepts d
and where b intercepts the x axis
perhaps i use the fact that the midpoint of b goes through the perpendicular line to make another equation for c so maybe solve simultaneously????????
a completely alternate method which someone else came up with
using similar shapes and so scale factor ratios for the 2 highlighted shapes here....
