this is the frequency density before 2:16

so u can figure out the percentage of whats before 2:16 in comparison to the whole sample by dividing the frequency density before 2:16 by the total frequency density

so 1420/1846.66=0.7689

#

so about 76.89% of them finished before 2:16

the sample is out of 50 people, so 0.7689*50 will give an estimate of the amount finishing before 2:16

which = 38.4

and just round down to 38

Can you tell me how me how you got the answer

frequency density =k*frequency/class width

and k is just a scale to make the axis nice

from the 3rd row, we see the the 70 = k*7/10 so k=100

#

so same process, for 2nd row fd=7*100/3

#

=700/3

#

and bottom row fd=15*100/2

#

=750
