- make a triangle out of those points
- find angle ABC (it is 88)
- use sin rule to find the side AC
- use the speed of the boat with the length that u find from using sin rule to find the time it takes to get from point C to point A

hello ! i got 18 mins but am wondering if u got the same/similar
thank u for the working out it was very helpful
i havent worked it out yet one sec
ok!
can you send your working out?
i drew the shapes on paper but i'm 100 % sure they're right
from step 3 onwards
AC = 1.6/ sin 48 * sin 88 which is 2.15 km
t = d/s so 2.15/ 7.2 = 0.2988 hrs and then that times 60 = 17.93 mins so 18
wait
?
its 98-50
i think youve done sine rule wrong
why have u divided
is x/sin88 = 1.6/sin48
im so confused
at least i was for the journey along the way
yes
so its x = 1.6/sin48 * sin88
im not sure you did
u dont get sin(x)*sin(y) divided by the length
nothing is being divided by the length though
it goes from 14.6/sin(105) = x/sin(62)
to 14.6*sin(62)/sin(105)
if u apply the same rearranging
thats what i get
idk how u did it
the screenshot i sent
its just an example of someone rearranging it correctly
so if u apply the way that he rearranges it
u should get it right
no but my equation is
sorry for the messy writing
u are fast it's fine
๐
bro i think i put the wrong number in the calc
right
and i thought we were doing different things because of the way u typed it out
ohh
SORRY GUYS
ah okay
nevermind then
