How do you figure this out?

6-4=1(x)(x-1)
2=x^2-x
0=x^2-x-2
0=(x-2)(x+1)
x= 2 or -1

is that the right answer?

this is how i got it i tried to write out each step so you can under stand it

you pretty much want to get the fractions denominator the same so you can minus the numerators in one fraction then you can just rearrange with normal algebra

can you not move the x-1 and x to the other side

or make the denominators the same

you cant move them across until both fractions have the same denominator

i think thats where you went wrong

good question it was meant to be + 4 when i expanded it

should be this instead
