@exotic iris uploaded a log, Linux gaming moment

It was fine on windows but at some point I had to move to Linux and now I can't have solver as it crashes nearly instantly
To be more exact, it crashes when mouse touches game window. If your window isn't fullscreen and your mouse is outside - it will not crash until your mouse touches it

Things I tried:
0. Googling issue

  1. Removing OF
  2. Removing SB mods
  3. Removing all mods but DG
  4. Creating clean installation with forge (crash report from it btw)
  5. Adding startup flag from #❗please-read❗
  6. Downgrading lwjgl to lesser version
6.1. I also tried forcefeeding it lwjgl 3 but it was obvious that it wouldn't work
  7. Using lesser version of DG. DG 4 all have this issue, DG 3 doesn't have this particular issue - instead it got 10 different issues making SB unplayable

Nothing of this worked. Not sure which flair is correct as it is kinda death on start but at same time this crash technically happens after starting?

  • OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.8.0_362
  • Forge 11.15.1.2318 on 1.8.9

Recommendations:

  • Unless you know what you're doing, modifying your JVM args could have unintended side effects. It's best to use the defaults.

@exotic iris uploaded a log,

exotic iris
#

there is also forge one (fml-client-latest.log), but bot didn't "eat" it so I decided to delete message with it just in case

merry stump
#

oke so it doesnt happen without dg

#

what linux distro are you using

#

I also would like to get fml client latest

#

dg does do smth weird with cursors

#

so that might be causing some problems

exotic iris
exotic iris
#

I thought bot would eat this message too but it doesn't seem to care

merry stump
#

oke I will check it out once I get home

merry stump
#

/uuid fluboxer

#

ah right

#

it doesnt work here

#

finally my remote load version choose will see some light

merry stump
#

choose Remote: TEST_BRANCH (or smth similar)

#

there should be a version that I think should fix your problem

#

there should be two versions

#

one named 4.0.0-beta7.5-fluboxer and one with 4.0.0-beta7.5-fluboxer-2

#

try the second one, and upload the fml-client-latest log

#

and then try the first one to see if it fixes the crash

exotic iris
merry stump
#

yes auto downloader jar

#

the only caveat with the first one is that, you would see windows cursor on dg gui
other than that, it's same as latest beta7.5

exotic iris
#

so I launch second one, it is supposed to crash, I send log and load first one that is supposed to survive?

merry stump
#

yep

exotic iris
#

I assume I have to try this on clean MC installation first?

merry stump
#

yeah that'd be better

exotic iris
#

so I can't even choice a version

merry stump
#

oh my

#

but at least I definitely now the problem

exotic iris
#

to be fair, DG is only reason I would launch 1.8 now

merry stump
#

try this loader

#

I should add a parameter to disable cursor trick later

#

and include it in -Ddg.safe

exotic iris
#

well, it seems to be alive

#

do I need to pick special version?

merry stump
#

ye

#

the one in TEST_BRANCH

#

other versions all have the cursor magic which seem to crash you

exotic iris
#

fluboxer or fluboxer-2

I mean, we located the issue

merry stump
#

-2 will crash you and provide me with useful log

#

the one without won't hopefully crash you

exotic iris
merry stump
#

oke i will look into it later

exotic iris
#

I tried fixed version, did few runs and yes it works

there are some minor problems (btw, where do I report those?) but those were a thing even before I went to linux

tacit dune
#

Is there any update on this?
I have the same issue on 4.0.0-beta12.5

merry stump
#

I confirmed a temporary fix working for him

#

but I never made it into actual 4.0 branch
