i dont have much time at this moment, but what commands did you use up to that rebuild?
you probably only needed 3 of those, but you may need to do this in bcdboot command for fixing it
OH it completed! Successfully
Restarting my pc now
@last sentinel :((
still says the same thing
bcdboot command, where do go for that?
well you're going to first need a usb drive with the windows installer
the instructions for the bcdboot fixes are online, i need to get going. i need to go cook supper
if i have time later i can try helping again. sorry
Alrighty thank you!
Specs:
Motherboard: Asus X670E CrossHair Extreme
GPU: 4090
CPU: 9950x3D
Windows 11 Pro
Got the Windows Boot working ( Had to Reformat Windows )
but the other issue aside from that is that my monitor turns on and then off during boot... So I have to just unplug and plug in the display port out and in. In order for it to work, just curious on if its the display port cable is wearing out or GPU(hopefully not)
reformatting windows was likely unnecessary, bu hey whatever works for you. ummm based on what you are saying in pm and here, i would think it may be a cpu pin issue.
what cpu cooler do you have?
I have the NZXT 360mm Kraken Elite
Yeah, true but didn't know I have that monitor issue aswell. I had 2 problems into 1
Why would it react now though ?
curious question
well i guess from the design of how you mount tht cooler, you might be warping the motherboard or probably screwing in the pump with too much or not enough pressure on some of the thumb screws
do you have a contact frame to replace the latching system for the cpu?
i dont think so, didnt really buy anything else but just the cpu, and the cpu cooler itself
I do need a new cpu cooler, that you mention it
if the cpu cooler is applying too much or not enough pressure on part of the cpu, it can create uneven pressure. heating and cooling cycles can change how the pins are contacting the pads on the bottom of the cpu. what it seems like is happening is the pcie lanes be be on the edge of having a problem connecting properly that only became a problem now possibly from rising ambient temperatures
should i check temps ?
since you dont think you have a contact frame, you very likely dont. i would buy one and install that, but that requires taking the motherboard out. then reinstall the cpu and try to make sure you do even turns on each mounting screw for the pump until they're snug but not crazy tight
you should always be checking temperatures during testing
but the temperatures will likely be normal
the pressure issue off of the pump being mounted too tight wont really show much of a temperature change. issues would be manifesting in various ways
so say cpu pins are slightly shifted and misaligned, that can result in memory slot related pins not making contact properly, which can cause ram slots to or entire channels to not work
it can cause communication errors with pcie devices or slots
and both of those combind can cause corruption on your os ssd or any ssd
esp if i just take out the display port from my monitor and putting it back in ?
and ahhh i see
that display port issue could be either a pcie lane communication error from cpu pins, or corrupted video drivers or both
check your ram
see if you have all your ram still in task manager
Looks good on ram
I do need to go on bios and turn on that expo
let me do that real quick
i turned off expo
well i resetted bios
the reason of i resetted bios was because of what happen yesterday, and i thought me resetting it would fix it
(Before I contacted you about it)
should I turn on expo now ? and show you results
oh btw, the contact frame was more for your specific motherboard but is generally not needed for most am5 boards. you probably dont need it, so really im saying consider it if you keep having an issue, but dont rush out to get one because they cost lik e$25-35
yeah turn it on and see what happens
you might need to run a ramtest with memtest86 (not 86+) and see if it comes back with errors. if it does, it means there are more errors than the simple error correction on ddr5 can handle
that would also suggest a cpu pin issue
Sounds good, imma turn on the Expo report back and then test the ramtest
even if you dont get errors, you might want to see how tight the mounting thumb screws are and back off the tighest ones slightly, or tighten very slightly the looser feeling ones
@warm basalt when you get a chance, impart some wisdom here if you may
SORRY for my dirty MONITOR
But i want to show u a video
You can just skip to the last 10-15 sec most of the video was just memory test(turning on expo)
AFTER (Results turning on EXPO)
very very odd
