So i have an old hdd and a 2.5" ssd, i already installed windows in the ssd, got it formatted. then i set the boot option #1 to the ssd. at first boot it was doing well, loaded windows properly. but then like a week or two, after the windows loading screen it just turns to black. i still can go to task manager using Alt+Ctrl+Del, but no display, i dont know what could be the problem.

alright but can you help me with something else? my cpu fan is spinning
everything is on but no display
restart it, hold power button
shit nvm its turning on
🙏🙏
wait bro
the screen turned blue and said "encountered a problem" and then it restarted?
hold power and restart
did the system work fine with a different storage drive in it?\
no its the hdd
and i just remembered that theres an nvme ssd in it
so hdd and nvme is installed in this
so you mean both have windows
only the hdd does
ok so now what is the problem
why does the ssd matter
youre mixing up problems here
why
cus it doesn't have windows
what are you trying to do besides boot into windows
probably boot into bios?
"installed windows in the ssd, got it formatted. then i set the boot option #1 to the ssd."
boot option needs to be the hdd no?
it has windows and not the ssd
i forgot this is a new motherboard
man
i would like you to think through this and get back to me once youve thought about your variables here and tried what you can
okok
to boot into bios you need all components connected properly with power
then spam the "del" key
otherwise your screen will go black and the fan will spin since you have your ssd set as boot drive
okay
because it doesnt have windows it doesnt boot into windows
so do said steps, get into bios, and change boot drive
if you still cant get into bios after you restart after its done with its thing then remove the ssd and spam delete key
im in bios after removing ssd
read these again, this is where i put this all together, i want you to learn that this wasnt 3 problems it was one problem causing what seemed like 3 issues which is why you had me confused going for each issue seperately
yep msi does it bad imo
i hate that crap on my mobo
you could move hdd to sata port 1 aswell, may affect priority
so im gonna try booting into windows now
yep
hmm seems to be a unrelated issue
since windows worked for a while
now either drive is bad or something else happened that fed up windows
my hdd seems to be doing well before this
what did you change component wise
could you get windows installed on the ssd with a usb stick?
if the ssd works fine then its the hdd that got corrupted or such
god all my files are in the hdd
how old is it
probably 7
years?
yes,
hope is you just have windows fucked up and you can pull everything off of it onto the ssd
yeah just maybe windows is the problem here
