GPU:
Nvidia Quadro K600

Quality:
The card looks new and it has not been overclocked

issue:
i got a gpu from my friend for free and on installing it to my other computer and upgrading its driver the screen turned yellow i tried many fixes i searched on yt and google etc but none worked but then when i reverted the graphics driver to a pretty old one then it became normal now im testing some games on it and im unable to play them because my graphic drivers are old

it looks new.....but it's a 10 year old gpu... what games are you trying to play on it b/c it may not be able to handle them

final tartan
#

i installed it on my other computer and ran gta v and it was running at 40-50 fps low graphics

errant shuttle
#

figure out which version of the drivers he was running and see if you can find and install it

final tartan
#

i have that version installed rn but i dont know how to check which version it is

#

its like a +2 year old version

errant shuttle
#

gpu-z software can tell you what version you're running

final tartan
#

oh yeah i forgot to say that when i install the latest drivers it changes my resolution to very small and the color is fine and normal no yellow and when i try changing it from the nvidia panel there is no option for 1440x900 but there is an option for a custom resolution, i clicked on it and i changed it to 1440x900 and then the screen gets a yellow tint

#

when i change it back to a lower resolution it goes back to normal

errant shuttle
#

your monitor is only 1440x900?

final tartan
#

yeah

errant shuttle
#

most monitors now are 1920x1080 or 2560x1440, just want to make sure yours isn't one of those

final tartan
#

my friend's monitor was also 1440x900

are you using displayport or dvi?

#

have you tried using a different cable

final tartan
#

im using vga

final tartan
errant shuttle
#

is displayport or dvi an option?

final tartan
#

isnt dvi the same as vga?

#

but no

#

they are not

errant shuttle
#

dvi can do both digital and analog

#

vga is analog

final tartan
#

this is what the card looks like

#

well im using a display port to vga convertor

#

on the card

errant shuttle
#

i wonder if the converter is causing issues

final tartan
#

i bought a new convertor and a new vga cable and it still did not work

errant shuttle
#

i'm wondering the use of any converter is causing issues

final tartan
#

oh well why is it only causing issues when i change it to 1440x900 on the latest drivers?

errant shuttle
#

not sure, just pointing out some potential factors that could be causing issues

final tartan
#

hmm this is really annoying ngl

#

im probably just gonna sell it at a pawn shop

#

unless i find a fix

@final tartan Have you checked Nightlight settings? That's the only thing I know of that can cause a yellow tint to the picture. Unless it's the colors being corrupted.

random furnace
#

Idk why a driver or Resolution change would effect that setting. It would be weird.

#

If I had to guess it's just not a fan of that resolution but it seems more to me to be your Monitor.

#

Do you have a 1080p TV or other monitor to try it on?

final tartan
#

but why does it only happen when I Install the latest driver but not when I revert back to a specific one?

final tartan
random furnace
#

It might not have support for the latest driver since it's an older card. Have you checked to see if that product is EOL or still supported?

final tartan
#

how do I check that?

random furnace
#

Plus it's a Server card. That introduces some factors that I'm not fully familiar with.

#

Go to the website of the manufacturer or search for the model plus support

#

Like they made 700 Series GPUs EOL. So, those don't get new driver support

#

It could be that or maybe the guy loaded a custom VBIOS on it to mine with. Never know.

#

@final tartan I would get GPU-z and check it against the VBIOS version on TechPowerUp

final tartan
random furnace
#

Lol, never assume or trust.

#

Especially when it comes to people

final tartan
random furnace
#

That can explain the weird driver issues

#

Doesn't mean that every newer driver version than what you're using will do the same thing

#

@final tartan That will be $20 😄

final tartan
#

well atleast i make a profit, bought it from my friend for 5 😆

quaint zenith
#

anything past the 9 series of cards for nvidia got EOL'ed

#

and if its doing it because of a resolution change, its because whatever you are trying to do doesnt have enough bandwidth for x resolution, or its such a wonky resolution its just very unhappya bout it.

random furnace
#

@final tartan How so? You owe me $20 lmfao

final tartan
#

oh shit 💀

#

time to run

random furnace
#

@quaint zenith That's the same thing I said. It's EOL so it's older. Lol
