Processing fee? From best buy?
Looks like StockX to me
correct
Ah
might as well have gotten a 7900xtx or a 4090
A 4090 would be 500 more lol
but worth moreso performance wise
True, but my bank account doesn’t understand that haha. The reason i got it is because i sold my old gpu for 900$ and i wanted a relatively inexpensive upgrade. I only paid around 300 out of pocket where as if i had gotten a 4090, that number couldve been more like 800
also true
I like the 7900xtx but I want to test out frame gen and I like gddr6x and dlss. Also just more reliable I think
their drivers are better, no reported driver issues
what amd doesnt have is RT or Frame Gen, DLSS 3.0 is not as good as FSR (apart from the vapor chamber issues AMD had with 7900xtx reference cards)
Yup. Not a full package for me tbh. I want a card that feels like a luxury experience, and amd doesnt do it for me personally.
I'm just still trying to understand StockX when you could get it at best buy. But, at least, a scalper on stockx didn't make much if anything
I live in Alaska. I cant go to a bestbuy to pick up.
Makes sense. Wow, alaska? I would be a hardcore gamer if I lived there
Haha yeah bro. Most places wont ship here. I pay quite a bit for a box to be able to get fedex to do it
Not a lot to do for sure. town of about 10k people
Wow
Just happy I got one for MSRP. I play at 3440x1440p and didnt need a 4090. I have a 12700k as well.
I had a 4080 for a month but decided to go back to my 3080 and sit out this gen. Props, enjoy!
didnt like it?
Oh, I loved it. Amazing power consumption and temps! Just overkill for my needs I just play at 1440p and nothing heavy with RT.
Fair bro. Which model?
Same one you got, founders edition. Don't forget you can change the lighting by the way, with Corsair software and even the EVGA precision x-1 software
Even color?
Yep
Very nice. im also doing a vertical mount
Just not the logo, you can only adjust the brightness of that or turn it off.
Even vertical mounted in that case I never saw temps hit 60c
The design is seriously impressive. I have a Strix 3080 and it feels like a toy compared to the founders 40 series coolers
Did you test time spy extreme?
Also, how does it overclock, what frequency were you able to get
I only have the free version of timespy so I did that and a bunch of benchmark modes in some games. I'll send you the screenshots.
Mind you, I was going to upgrade to a 12700k but since I kept my 3080 I never did and these benchmarks are with a 12400.
Alrighty
Wait.. I can't find the timespy screenshot
I did three benchmark runs with each game I tested. But here's Guardians of the Galaxy with RT on
Horizon Zero Dawn, Forza Horizon 5 with RT on, FM7 (note the GPU temp), Immortals Fenyx Rising
Howd you like frame gen?
I don't have any games that use it. I didn't turn on DLSS for any of the tests either, but in NFS Unbound there was an option for DLSS and it did make a difference because that game is poorly optimized.
Those are all done on stock clocks, I didn't even use the auto-tune feature. It really didn't need it and though I can't find my timespy score I do know it was above average compared to others with the same cpu/gpu combo.
Was it a worthwhile upgrade?
That's tough to answer. For me it wasn't. If I was going from a 20-series or a low-end 30-series, definitely.
Gotcha. I play at ultrawide and like a lot of fps lol
you play Fallen order?
No
give it a shot
aight for sure
At 3440x1440 yall think i need a new cpu? i have a 12700k
Probably not
12700k solid cpu bro, if you ever decide to upgrade go for the 7700x or the 7800x3d
Yeah im only bottlenecked in fps games or dlss in some games
Amd shill 🥶
