Can you turn a 7900 and 6900 in same system?
If so, which drivers do you use? When I tried to install the drivers for 7900 it, windows complains the 6900 can’t start with code 31 and vice vesa

You can it may be frustrating at times.

#

Preferable drivers would be one that supports both products so there isn't much worry of misconfig within the system

The latest drivers only support 7900, not 6900:( for 6900 you have to download an older driver

#

Windows update tried to install drivers for it, but get code 31

Win 11

Did that, doesn’t work:(

#

Those are the latest drivers, noticed 23.11 only supports 7900

#

22.11.2 supports up to 6900

You got them both?

And then try to install both cards- boot the system and see if both cards are recognized/running the correct version

#

It may get slightly more complicated since AMD hasn't released a synced update with RDNA 2

@jaunty daggerwhy do you need both cards in one system? just wondering if it's possibly for something that can be done differently

jaunty dagger
#

Because I want to setup eyefinity so I can use 6 displays.

#

It’s amd that haven’t unified the drivers for those cards. Just heard the news a couple days ago:(

The new cards support eyefinity, I running it now

#

oh you would need displays that support daisy chaining to even use that...

#

so your only options are to buy an nvidia or intel gpu or a second 7900 series card unless amd fixes the driver support. supposedly there is a driver coming in 2ish weeks

#

no idea if it supports both 60 and 70 series

#

AMD drivers for RDNA2 architecture (and older) coming soon Millions of gamers using older Radeon GPUs were not forgotten, a new driver package is coming soon.  As confirmed today by Frank Azor (Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions at AMD), the company will release a new driver for Radeon 6000 series and older within 2 weeks. 7900 and 6900 can’t support eyefinity in 4k. But the drivers work

#

Max it supports is 3 monitors at 4k:(

#

I want to use 6 display at 4k with eyefinity, but it’s a no go:(

i dont think eyefinity ever supported 4k on 6 displays
