I really like the idea that Kai literally can’t be critical of his team because of all the things stated above + not wanting to be like his dad Since for me, I always think he’d be more critical to his team to always meet the expectations of his dad. He won’t say anything on the field when they’re doing well, because when they do well, they do well but something like a blunder that loses them a point and he’s on their case (X’s specifically)

I also can not picture Kai giving Era any criticism because she listens and follows him so well. If anything he just gives her advice or instructions. But Kai realizes that they are capable. On the field they do not rely on him, he relies on them, so it’s better to let them do their own thing and win.
