But what are your personal thoughts on the other members of EM? (I was initially going to ask about Rune but this is more on topic)
I’ll go first
I love the members of EM but I feel each of their motives for teaming up with Kai aren’t the best
Era teaming with Kai out of love for him, even as an incredibly skilled player, doesn’t recognize her personal worth
And X was scouted for his usefulness to aid era and Kai, yet he doesn’t know them personally
I’ve been rather interested in their relationship canonically
Just think it’s a pretty fragile team emotionally
Besides head canons I can’t see them being there for each other
Emotionally
And outside core strike
Adding onto X there’s huge areas for discord since we know he’s only there to fight strong opponents and The EM manager basically let his attitude slide cuz he was strong. If that ever changed and they decided he wasn’t a good fit X would just leave and find some other team that would allow it
Anywho

I agree that emotionally, the team has flaws, especially thinking about actual skill-based communication, considering Era is so codependent on Kai's opinion of her. Era’s reactions easily could lead to frustration with Kai not being able to give her criticism without feeling guilty for upsetting her.
It's the same with X being emotionally explosive because of his up-and-down past. By that, I mean him picking a fight instead of a flight.
This pairing comes together for me because they all seem outcasted; they're all missing the feeling of being connected and worthy of a space. EM gives them a place to belong, to feel like a part of something. In that way, I hope they'll find growth, expand upon their reactive habits and grow closer to each other as they all relate to this feeling of being shut out of something. Kai feels like unless he is complete perfection, he isn't enough and needs to work hard to prove his worthiness of comfort. Era feels rejected and erased from society because of her low self-esteem and the way others viewed her when she was younger. X having been abandoned by his parents, copes with the lack of attention by making a scene and proving himself stronger than everyone else. They all seem to feel without support and structure; the team gives them a place to call "home."
These can be considered primarily headcanons but Ive tried to focus on reoccuring things from their pasts. I would love more emotional development and dedication to ALL the teams' stories. However, EM has an interesting dynamic that could promote a softer side to these characters, which interests me because, on the surface, they're anything but vulnerable.
