So there's this hotshot in that show called Jamie (J) who's like. A star player and selfish and stuff, not unlike Kai
And the captain is Roy (R) iirc, a giga Chad fr with his anger on the field being his defining trait, not unlike X

So the scene in discussion occurs a season into the show after plenty of J development where J and R's relationship is much better than early on (earlier its very "I fucking hate this guy so much" but now it's a mutual respect maintained thru quips and teasing)
when J's deadbeat dad comes along to, for lack of a better term, emotionally abuse the boy in front of the whole team
And this is the first time J finds the courage in him to go "Don't talk to me like that." And it devolves and stuff where J punches his dad back (which is a loss for him cuz he did what his dad did again and he's working hard to move away from him but I digress)
And like. J breaks down after the dad is pulled away and thrown out and no one knows what to do until R comes over, says nothing and gives J the much needed hug
