How in character it would be to do that? Depends on the context, but definitely something well within her capabilities.

Assuming her magic works at the same proportions it does in the actual game, if memory serves I think she hits like 8'4 if she uses it on herself? I did the math once so I could get the perspective right if I ever decided to write about it.

Obviously those powers get more or less flexible depending on how you interpret OS's magic system, and whether or not the world works on a hard or soft magic system.

A lot of this though is opinions on soft vs hard magic systems, and we don't really know which one the OS world operates on. For all we know she could, and just hasn't done it on screen.

For those who might not know what I mean what I'm referring to a "soft magic system" is where magic is malleable and a character's precise toolkit is subject to change. The characters have "magic" which can suit whatever happens to be needed of it. Harry Potter would be an example in classical literature of a soft magic system. There's some rules in place, but it's largely nebulous what everyone's precise capabilities are at any given time.

To contrast, a "hard magic system" is where rules are outlined very strictly and there's a hard line of what characters can do, what the limits within those things they can do are, and how much it would take them to learn or strengthen beyond that level. It's a system that takes more work to maintain consistency with, but if established properly is in my eyes more immersive and believable than a soft magic system, and as such my preference. Tolkein's Lord of the Rings would be a familiar example of one such system.

As someone who has difficulty connecting with a lot of ships in general I feel this. Though funnily enough one of the pieces I've been trying to write recently has a couple of those "Oh, so you guys are dating" comedic beats in it, and I keep hitting moments in the dialogue where I'm wondering if I'm writing the platonic fic I intended to write, or if it's just turned into a rare pair romance and is now completely out of my control.

Anyways to jump back to the topic at hand, I've been wondering about how y'all envision X's particular involvement in the early points of this relationship. Like obviously he's the ultimate bro, but who is he playing wingman for earlier or more often? Does he actually have good romantic advice? Does he manage to keep secrets well? When the two romancing characters are in the same canon team the extra naturally winds up in the wingman/third wheel status, and I've found that to be a fun topic of discussion in Datablade chat with Finii so I was curious on the takes over here!

Definitely a part of the dynamic I wanted to make sure I got right was the two being very level with one another. They're childhood friends so I wanted to depict them on the same wavelength. That mutual comfort leads to both of them speaking more frankly and acting more rashly than they would around other characters.

I wanted to make sure the reader understood Kai is confident and in control of the situation, but also not present the idea that he's trying to take command of the room. He's not trying to push that authority like he would around others.

Era by contrast is rolling with the punches a lot more comfortably than she might otherwise. Kai has always stood up for her, and she's a lot more open to jumping into things with him around.
