It's possible, I'm not usually paying attention when it happens so it might be that

not sure, but might be caused by this bug, where when you change role it flicks back and forth sometimes before settling

It might be that someone else also chose goalie and the game just decided to put you on the same party, there cant be 2 goalies so you know..,
