yeah if you want a real explanation of what my current guesses as to why it's not possible to get 58 instead of joke conspiracy theories:
-its possible that LP on the backend is represented by a different scale. like an omega rank is 2900 LP, but on the backend that rank is '4.7' and they just multiply it by some constant, which would make sense as to why it skips some values.
-some variation of the chicken mcnugget problem https://www.cantorsparadise.com/chicken-mcnugget-theorem-1df48d273a57 and even though LP gains are varied, there might be some probabilistic shenanigans anyways that make it unlikely for it to occur in that fashion
-it might be easier to get 58 LP after you have demoted from mid dia.
-most people climb past dia, rather than demoting. not because everyone is a grinder frfr but just because over time LP gets inflated. so imo there is a lower sample size of people demoting towards dia 58 LP than there are people that rise past dia 58 LP
-other than that idk. someone must have demoted from mid dia so i have no clue what to think. its weird that there has not been a dia 58 LP yet.

I don't think that's the case, integer are vastly prefered to float in programs for a lot of reasons. Computer are just kinda bad at math involving floating point numbers. It would be cleaner, faster and easier to simply use the LP

#🦐│omega-strikers message in open beta i noticed that 59% low dia was missing (i think it happened somewhere in high plat as well, which another person pointed out in this post but thats too many clicks). i checked the leaderboards every few days/weeks and i never saw it happen. usually i check the leaderboards to try to predict how many spots i go up if i win the next game so thats how i noticed it.
