Ai.Mi - Being carried (metaphorically and literally). She wants people to see her as her own person but also man it feels nice to just let someone else do things for her. In the literal sense, it's just She Likes Zen but also if someone sees her she vehemently denies that she had a part in the scene.
Zentaro - Likes junk food way more than he lets on. He doesn't like the unhealthy aspect so he feels bad sometimes but they taste so good...

I think Zentaro would view of it as a necessary thing. Just something he's super neutral on. Ai.Mi would get super bored by it, or at least dislike the premise.

I think she'd grow to really enjoy it though. It's a novel thing for someone who has appeared in largely the same way to countless eyes (or perhaps was customizable to the demands of users) to be able to dress herself differently. The ability to stand out and be her own thing with her own stuff that she picked out.

Course she'd need some help from Finii in order to get the whole "cohesive outfit" thing going.

Zentaro had to endure people he grew up with and called friend rejecting him, living alone on the road as a teenager, and probably more that I can’t think of off the top of my head.

And he definitely doesn’t let any of that show if he can avoid it.

The only good thing we get is niche high damage combos. Our ice field usually works against us, fish is fine but doesn’t do good damage, Micheal Blade is certainly a move, and Chesnuts is a projectile that can’t really be used in neutral. Plus the 100% super does less damage than Ram’s laser super (50% btw) and the reversal super tickles people. What was Daisuke cooking?

Don’t get me wrong, I love playing her but she is easily bottom 5 right now.

I feel like she would do it often if Zentaro wasn’t picky with his colors. (LMAO his canon nails are weirdly white, so I just assume he chooses that as a color.)

He would probably ask for the same basic white color until recently, he would start asking black or red. He still doesn’t go crazy with colors or details but he likes spending time with Ai.Mi. While Zentaro is good at make up, he’s not really good at painting nails. It’s different thing tbh. Ai.Mi likes painting her nails, gives her some individuality that she gets to experience. She doesn’t do extreme designs on herself but if Finii asks something and promises she won’t mess her up,, she can do it.

Ai.Mi totally uses her time painting Zen’s nails to gossip or vent. He doesn’t really talk during this, but he is listening.

I think he does enjoy it. He’s spending more time with Ai.Mi,,, he’s not like a nail girlie like Ai.Mi but he does like listening to her since I think it would be cute if Ai.Mi was into painting nails and stuff,, she’s like talking about aryclic nails vs gel nails

If Zentaro can hyperfixate on anime, i think ai.Mi should do it with nails and nail polish

To proffer a dissenting opinion, I think Zentaro would dislike doing stuff with his nails. I see it as something that would feel foreign to him. It's not the kind of thing he had earlier in his life, and for as much as he loves what he's found in Ahten I think there's always going to be those parts of him nagging over little things that aren't like his old home so to speak. Looking at his hands and seeing his nails a different color, or being able to scratch at or even feel the paint on his nails might just rub him the wrong way methinks.

Now he's also a lovestruck kid and a grin a bear it type so I could also completely see him enduring it for the sake of Ai.Mi's company. Only for her to get mildly annoyed as he repeatedly declines any choice of color that isn't boringly close to what's naturally there.

Then it finally comes out in a game of truth or dare that he never liked it, and Ai.Mi and Finii are shocked beyond belief

Probably sharing emotions with each other. They both want to be the one that looks strong for the other, and being too carefree with their emotions hampers that.

Zentaro wants to look strong because he wants to protect Ai.Mi. He doesn't want to burden her with his struggles.
Ai.MI wants to look strong because she wants to be a leader. She doesn't want others to doubt her ability, and she doesn't want Zentaro to feel like he can't come to her for help because she doesn't have her stuff together.

That's a good question but I think this one goes to Zentaro, he had to disguise himself his whole childhood and was seen as an outcast from his whole village (except for his parents ofc) so he had to leave his village / island and his parents (btw he doesn't even know who his real parents were) and now he tried to get them to the city and he can't even know if they're safe rn.
meanwhile sure, Aimi has to cope with the fact that she's only seen by everyone as a program and stuff but she didn't lose anyone in her past or was hated by anyone (she kinda just hates how everyone sees her as a cute mascot)

These two have basically nobody but each other for a good while after they meet, and I'm sure Ai.Mi quite quickly realizes when Zentaro's not around that she likes having a friend. That's a new thing for her.

And goodness Zentaro. Boy hasn't met someone he thinks he can trust for however long. His family's far away and he's left thinking about seeing them exclusively in his dreams up to the present events of the game. Anyone he actually feels he can confidently put faith in is going to be someone he won't want to let go of.

Granted Zentaro is also naïve as all get out so maybe he's not as bothered as I'm assuming here but you get the idea

I’ve advocated for Home Alone as a favorite movie for these two in the past, and continue to do so.

Zentaro would probably get Ai.Mi something to wear. A way to express herself. His sense of style isn’t the best, but she appreciates it regardless.

Ai.Mi would gun for something practical for Zentaro. Be it a travel mug, utility knife, or anything he’ll be able to keep with him. There’d of course be a personal touch on it as well. In a way it’s as much a gift as a method of staking her claim.

Technically I'd say the answer is Ai.Mi because she'd cry more easily given something actually makes her cry.

She's not entirely used to a physical form, and by extension expression of emotion. I would assume that would make her more susceptible to dramatic shows of emotion. On the other hand, her outlook on the world and people as a whole makes her someone who has trouble empathizing. She strikes me as the type who would struggle to get invested in a story.

Zentaro to the contrary just wouldn't dare be caught dead crying in front of people. He wants to show strength, and values his own image too much. Contrary to Ai.Mi he's an empathetic character, and his quotes support him being very genuine, but he also wants to look strong. He wears that mask for a reason after all.

He's already lost people close to him before in the same sense, so while familiar it would still hurt all the same. He's still quite young for having to process that. It's the kind of thing where he'd believe himself to not have been good enough, and to have failed someone he loves again. I think long term he'd just not want to get attached to people both from some potential trust issues, but also because he doesn't want to start anything with anyone for risk of letting them down. It would develop a new level of insecurity that he usually doesn't have about himself.

Ai.Mi would get unbelievably angry imo. She'd, I think regardless of Zentaro's intentions or reasons, perceive it as a slight against her. Zentaro acts as the primary catalyst of someone treating her how she wants to be treated, and a breakup would essentially be Zentaro copletely betraying that developed trust. It's the kind of experience that would bring out all of the worst aspects of herself tenfold, even ones she'd thought to have been long past. Long term she'd be jaded, perhaps even a bit vindictive, and refuse to trust just about anyone. Zentaro proved her original ideology to her face, and the one thing she can take solace in is that she was right all along about people.

Hard to say. I think Ai.Mi would overcomplicate it more, and be a bit more nervous as a result.

I think particularly early on in an established relationship Zentaro would get some amount of pride out of the gesture. That he's able to be on this level with Ai.Mi (someone who at this point he knows to have established prejudices) is an achievement of sorts. He's found himself a place unlike any other he's been in before, and has been able to take a relationship with someone unlike anyone else he's ever met to the next level.

All the same, he still has a long way to go! He's got a lot left to learn about the streets he roams, and a lot more to learn about how to live and live in a romantic relationship. Some of this Ai.Mi can tech him with her knowledge of Ahten's lifestyle and people, and some of it they'll be left to figure out together.

There's probably a point where he hopes to impress upon Ai.Mi the misguided nature of her perspective. The idea that prejudice against others (even if for strong reasons) will get her nowhere. That's a lesson he himself is living through as one prejudiced against himself, and one his more idealistic personality is primed to want to help her through.

On the flip side, Ai.Mi has got to be embarrassed holding his hand. She probably didn't think she'd ever care about anyone the way she does Zentaro at this theoretical juncture. It's a step of admitting a past version of herself was some amount of wrong. That admittance of fault is by nature going to be a struggle and a bit of an embarrassment for one so brazenly confident as herself, and a big point of growth for her.

At the same time she can't let that reflection get in her way. She's still Zentaro's guide through much of the modern world, and she's the one setting their shared Corestrike agenda. She's ultimately the leader of the team between the two of them and Finii, and the weight of that responsibility is perhaps one she's finally beginning to really feel now that's realized just how much she cares for her friends (and that she actually has friends in this world to begin with!)

It's a simple gesture, and a cute one, but in say a novel regarding their journey I suspect it would be something of a substantial midpoint for them. A mark of seized potential as these two fledgling athletes and lovers navigate the world and their young lives in pursuit of ambitions. Those of family, the heart, and of learning the gift of living life despite its hardships.

What’s AIMI’S favorite thing about Zentaro?

I’ve probably gone into this before, but one of the things that’s great about these two is the contrast of characteristics. Ai.Mi and Zentaro would struggle to be more different from each other.

Ai.Mi is a rogue AI who is presumably incredibly intelligent. She’s recognized by everyone in Ahten, but nobody really recognizes her as a person. Despite her knowledge she’s very inexperienced in terms of practical living, and her time has left her very jaded.

Conversely, Zentaro isn’t a known figure. He’s a kid who wandered his way there. Nobody knows him, and yet contrary to his prior experiences they accept him. He knows virtually nothing about Ahten’s lifestyle and modern living as a whole, and yet he fends for himself in spite of this thanks to his lived experiences. Where Ai.Mi’s life has left her jaded regarding the world around her, Zentaro is optimistic and even a bit naïve in some ways.

What few similarities their stories hold have resulted in them developing in opposite directions, and it creates a fascinating base for the two to conflict with and influence one another.

That ability for the pair to bounce off of each other so easily is part of what makes them a strong base for a romantic relationship. Their characteristics naturally encourage mutual growth.

Definitely depends on where in a relationship these two are. I think off the bat Ai.Mi matches up with her in-game dialogue, and likes Zentaro’s simplicity. She views him as a constant in a complicated world. Something that she can rely on always being able to anticipate and understand. I don’t think that assessment is actually correct, but it would be her perspective.

I think in a more developed relationship she’d point to Zentaro’s patience. I think Ai.Mi, given time to grow as a person, would look back on their early relationship and think poorly of her past self. A sort of “how did he put up with me back then?” kind of attitude.

Zentaro likely acted as a mentor for her in many small aspects of execution in life, and no doubt listened to plenty of rants on a wide variety of topics. Some interesting, and some unfiltered vitriol sourced of her own prejudice.

Once those aspects of herself become aspects of her past, I think she begins to appreciate Zentaro a lot more for standing by her in spite of what she now sees as glaring flaws.

Omega Strikers at its heart in terms of writing is a series of solid to strong characters in a criminally underdeveloped world, and part of a story that can’t figure out what its A Plot is.

Ai.Mi and Zentaro are imo two of the game’s best pieces of character work, and I hope their concept can be done justice by the world being built around them should Omega Strikers’ story see any official continuation.

In the meanwhile, filling the gaps of that built world and probing those plot lines for potential will be a pastime I take great joy in.

Where would he even begin? She’s intelligent, passionate, and ambitious! These are the forefront of her positive qualities as they get to know each other, and he finds all of them to be wonderful aspects of her character.

I think as he and Ai.Mi learn from each other and Ai.Mi overcomes her biases it culminates in her learning that she likes helping people. That doing it of her own volition for its own sake is rewarding. In a well established rendition of their relationship years down the line I think Zentaro most appreciates that drive and passion being something she puts towards helping everyone around her.

Given those qualities I think she’d be a banger teacher later in life… though probably still a bit short tempered.

I think Zen thinks they're neat because there's really nothing like them where he's from. and I'd imagine based off what we see in the menu backgrounds that parades in Athen City are some of the most lavish parades in the world of Omega Strikers.

Zen senses a hostile presence behind him. it's weight shifts. it's reaching for him. lower down. oh, a pickpocket. Zen loves this city but living here definitely came with it's own set of problems that he hadn't had to worry about back home.

The pickpocket's wrist is suddenly grabbed by a hand. What?! Both the white-haired kid's hands had been full before, he was sure of it! "Looking to lose your hand?" the kid asks, without turning around. the pickpocket's blood goes cold. Who is this kid?!
"I- Uh- I just dropped something around here and was looking for it!"
"In my pockets? Now what would something of yours be doing in there? Well, if you insist, I'll take a look."

Zentaro spun around, both ice creams now in one hand. He released the would-be-thief's wrist and checked his pocket with his now free hand. Zen was really hoping that the pickpocket couldn't see how much fun Zen was having with this whole thing.

Zen pulls something out of his pocket. "Oh, would you look at that. Sorry, I doubted you."

It's the pickpocket's own wallet. How did this kid..? The pickpocket grabs his wallet back and runs off into the crowd.

This reminds me of all of those dystopian future movies where one fast food chain has cornered the market and become the only restaurant left. Mostly because I have no idea what Ahten’s fast food scene would look like, so it’s hard to say!

Honestly I don’t know if I’d say she has one! I think a big part of her pranking ability comes from being unpredictable such that her tricks have extreme variety. This in part pulled from a mixture of extreme creativity and indecisiveness.

I’ve talked before about the headcanon of Finii having a deck of what looks like playing cards, but are actually note cards with prank ideas written on them, and this theory is in part to support that propaganda.

Tough one! There’s a lot of great card games out there, and that’s if you’re only talking what can be played with a traditional deck of playing cards.

I will take the opportunity to say that I think they’ve all got skills that would give them an edge in a card game. Ai.Mi’s pretty sharp, and she’d be super good at card counting (Finii gets in her head too much to turn that into good decision making though), Zentaro doubtless has a killer poker face, and Finii is just all around really good (she also totally knows how to cheat, and does sometimes).

To the contrary I think Zentaro was forced to play something different after he made a near equivalent to himself on his first attempt. I think he wouldn’t be super sure how to approach role playing, and would start as familiar as possible as a result. His friends would insist that it’s in the spirit of things for him to branch out, so he gives in.

He tends to default to that pseudo stoicism, and playing a role that can’t do that would be a daunting challenge to him.

I think whatever Ai.Mi is playing she would aim to be the face of the party, someone larger than life who everyone respects. Essentially using the role to live her ideal of herself.

Finii would to nobody’s surprise exist to cause mayhem, and if we’re following on the DM Atlas train he’d have to pull her over for things constantly because she never stops doing things outside of the party’s purview that will definitely have consequences in future.

And if Maelstrom is getting involved I may as well chip in for them.

Drek would be the epitome of the “humble soldier” and then wind up breaking half of the encounters as he outwits Atlas with his military prowess. While Ai.Mi considers herself the leader he’s calling the shots in a fight when push comes to shove.

Rune is the party Rogue. He mysteriously seems to have things nobody remembered him getting.

The keyword there is respect. The reason I infer that she wants fame and to be recognized in that way is a combination of her ego and the logical question of "why the heck is she in the Pro League?"

The latter question actually never gets answered in her bio, and she doesn't make it clear in her quotes.

The two most natural reasons are either A: the money because she's broke lol or B: the fame, because people think of her as a novelty and she wants respect.

Between the two I find the latter to be the more plausible primary motive, though the former obviously would play into it as well.

I also assume this to be her motive because it plays better into building her and Zentaro's relationship, where the latter's humbler origins and similarly humble ambitions work as a grounding force for those lofty ambitions.
