So I was jokingly asked to provide proof that Atlas and Drek'ar want to make out with each other and I of course took it very seriously so I figured I may as well open this channel and answer here since I was already planning on making it in the first place eventually because I am very normal about these two. So anyway, here's a little list I wrote in a word doc:
-Atlas was the only person in Ahten to trust Drek’ar from the start. Drek’ar’ has met more people who accept him since (probably referring to Luna and Juno; I don’t think he’s even that close with Rune yet, given the tone of their interactions) but Atlas remains his most steadfast defender.

  • Because of that unquestioning trust I can't picture Drek'ar being romantically interested in anyone else but Atlas right now.
  • Atlas for his part, seems really driven by his goal of bringing his parents back from the past, so it’s very interesting that he decides to spend months teaching Drek’ar human language, culture and customs and presumably letting him stay in his home (also the use of the word "fascinated" in Drek'ar's bio is very fruity ngl).
  • They both have the most amount of voicelines with each other (4 each).
  • In Atlas’ reveal trailer he’s show using his Special to save Drek’ar, with the camera stopping on Drek’ar long enough for him to thank Atlas. I don’t think any other trailer emphasizes a voiced interaction between two characters like that.
  • The Omega Strikers OP show’s them working together against Estelle while Rune attacks Juliette, emphasizing them as a duo within the team.

That's all I got that's not headcanons, and I know it's not much and it's far from confirmation of anything but I don't care, I think they'd be cute together (cuter than they already are).

And on that note, I think it's super weird how some people react to the thought of Atlas and Drek'ar dating. I can't tell if they're put off by gay people existing, or Drek'ar not being human, or they just hate shipping in general (which, like, grow up, let people have fun even if you don't understand how its fun for them) but it's really unnecessary. They're two adult characters who like and trust each other, just let me be. DEbounce

His bio says that he stopped trying to contact his people, but that was after he'd already met Atlas. So what if he was trying to repair his communicator in secret for a while while staying with Atlas.

Which is like, bad, because Drek'ar's people would surely have invaded Earth. So I can imagine something like:

Drek'ar: "You know, I would sneak out at night to try repairing my communicator."
Atlas: "I knew."
Drek'ar: "And you did nothing about it? My people would have conquered the planet."
Atlas: "I had faith in you."

Oh okay quick thing! I'm not professional writer here so take my words with a grain of salt
but in the second image the tense in which things are written is a little off
Mainly in the start of that second paragraph where it says "...Atlas' social standing had only gotten worse. He's spent 8 years in total..." the switch between had (past) and he has (present) is a little jarring

When talking about preestablished information, that's usually gonna stay past tense before bringing the reader back into reality via present tense (talking about Atlas crying and such)

I was just coming in here to say I got a completely different fic idea while writing the main fic I've been writing and now Im not sure if I should write that new fic first, it'd be way shorter and Im kind of eager to put out anything drek'ar/atlas since there's a whopping ZERO fics of them so far tho this one wouldnt even have much Drek'ar in it 😮‍💨

I'd say don't worry too much about getting content out there right now and do whichever one you have more ideas for. This game only officially released a month ago, so there is plenty of time for a fandom to grow.
