The issue was originally reported here: https://discord.com/channels/778915844070834186/1297991791387345010
It was supposedly fixed - as mentioned in these patch notes: #📣patch-notes message
In practice, it wasn't actually fixed and the FPS still tanks dramatically when staring at the effects mentioned in the original bug report's additional comments.

I'll add that the FPS drops are much more noticeable when having two game windows running side by side.

I also tried clearing the cache but the issue still persists.

@raven sky Are you by any chance using qutebrowser or any browser that is using QtWebEngine under the hood? :o I'm testing this browser in my ongoing battle for FPS, and it performs very good compared to Chromium-base browsers, but since the day I'm using it, I can confirm the very same issues that you have. (My target FPS is just 30 and it drowns down to 10 when looking in the direction of those cyan middle pillar animations using this browser in particular.)

bump, still relevant.
you can reproduce it by opening multiple tabs (2+) of the same browser in the foreground (e.g. side by side).
you probably won't see the massive drop in a native client or with a single tab, or you will but it will not be as noticeable

by tradition, this will be fixed when people don't need to go there anymore. sigma

This issue happenens because chrome resource management are not working correctly, what you can do is open your main client on chrome and your different one on Firefox/ opera and so on
