I myself tryharded last week to get the Famous Cook title, just to find out it is time based 7d and the ranking is Lifetime too. So why are some recipes locked for only the lifetime top 5 players per server. Creating fomo like that seems really unnecessary and demotivating. No one cares about the title but there are recipes locked behind it as well. If some1 starts engaging in that system in a few weeks he will most likely never be able to achieve that and do these recipes.

Please either:

remove the need of the famous title for recipes.
make the ranking based on weekly points and make the title permanent.
If you still feel the need to annoy your players, make it weekly based, with the 7d time limit.

Yes there are in every profession

Yes, when you select such recipe it literally says Famous cook required

Yes, really unnecessary. The grind is already hard enough and barely worth it in how demanding the recipes are with the non farmable, wandering merchant items. And then they lock some high tier ones for the top 5 players lifetime. Idk when you see these updates it becomes very apparent they not playing their game

Such a shame I was looking forward to making prems etc. But focused only on cooking for now. Guess I have to either try to compete or give up before sunk cost fallacy sets in. Getting to the 50k cooking mastery is hard enough

In cooking it is only one prem with that requirement but also the only one thats rly worth it. So hope they come to sense.

couldnt agree more, titles should not be required for any recipes. In fact, titles should only help increase success rate of said recipes, and chance to double the output. Then it will be worth striving for. IF AND ONLY IF the output material is non-soul-linked

That would actually be a good fix imo. Have the title be worth benefits but not be the gatekeeper to making said recipe. And speaking about everything being linked is a whole different beast

I find it okay to hide some recipes behind a title, but the title needs to be accessible for everyone and that is currently not the case.

if they are locked behind mastery level titles its fine, but leaderboard titles required for the good recipes is just silly, and not even talking about the low craft chance and great succes chance
