I reported this as a bug but it was confirmed as an intended feature by devs. This completely disincentivizes people from farming and buying them because they have zero resell value for the majority of the competitive playerbase.
If it isn't fixed, at the very least there should be a popup informing the user so they clearly know the tradeable rune, costing 10s of billions of penya, will be Account Linked upon placing into an Account Linked weapon.

If I'm to understand this correctly then, does that mean if you place your SL-rune in to a Non-SL weapon then the rune itself will return to being Non-SL thus sellable?

technically speaking when you insert a jewel to a weapon, the jewel loses all its item information including whether it was account/soul linked, and upon removal it inherits the weapon's flags (modifiers).
