Obviously you could login with your same acc data.
Also you can either copy your live characters or chose from a premade character for each class which has good but not end gear equipped/in inventory.
I brought that up before this expansion but they are afraid of the initial setup costs I guess. But once setup properly it could be used for fast testing without that much overhead

Nearly all good games use this. I mean its like hundrets of free employees testing for you 😂😂

We talked about this once and the answer I got was it won’t happen because it costs too much.

Which can further be translated to it’s not worth the money it would cost them to make that happen.

Yeah its cheaper to make all the mistakes on life server and lose half the playerbase 😅

Test environment can be spon up if needed and only cost money if actually used. If done right, the game can be pushed to that test environment in a button press. It initial setup costs but then almost for free. Worked for a year as IT infrastructure engineer with different environments(dev/test/preprod/prod) for a few hundred K users in medical tech. Set those up and worked with it.
But yes, almost all that drama that this release brought could have been prevented by a public test server
