You're missing the problem with the wardrobe which is that it shouldn't render paid for items like fashion deleted. Asking players to pay 500FC would be a further spit in their faces and money hungry cash grab. Categorically no, if this was ever implemented I'd delete my character and items after immediately logging in. EDIT: Seems like everyone is too scared to point out that items in wardrobe shouldn't be released by FC items. Wardrobe system is just exploitative full stop, 500 FC is way too much, items should always be removable for free unless revert transmute scroll is used (at which point, it shouldn't just 'remove' the transmute, it should 'restore' the item as a separate item).

"Destroy the Gear to obtain it's skin for transmutation" is a common thing in Games and i personally like the concept. To add them to/remove them from your Gear should be free, as you already pay with the destruction of the original Item.

In my eyes you should not be able to remove items from your wardrobe again. It's an active choice you made to add them. If you later regret that you've added them, thats a consequence of your previous actions. You basically Turn the Skin into a soulbound Version, that now can be applied to all of your gears

Good discussion here, appreciate the different perspectives. It helps 👍

I would love that I can restore the items that I've transmuted without costing me fcoin. Why not use penya instead?

Remember to question the basic assumption that gear being destroyed when you use it to transmog is totally cool. SWTOR, for example, lets you stamp your gear appearance onto costume pages and does not destroy your gear in the process. You pay to get more pages, but otherwise that's the extent of it.

I'm someone who has pretty much every single fashion set available in game (unless I consider it too hideous to obtain / not so ugly it's funny). I've been forced to transmute multiple items because I simply don't have space in my inventory for them. I've tried to stick to soul-bound items only where possible. I have entire banks full of fashion that I can't use/enjoy easily because they refuse to implement basic QOL changes as simple as expanded inventory spaces or a separate fashion bank. It is not acceptable that you ask people to pay for certain items in FC, then say 'go ahead, delete them to cover up the limited number of speed sets we're releasing which are getting uglier and uglier each week' .

**The wardrobe isn't even account linked, it's soul linked. **

You can't get the original look of an item back without paying FC to 'revert' the transmutation. That's unacceptable and I've complained about that since quite literally the first day the wardrobe was released.

The core issue is adding items to wardrobe isn't really an active/free choice, it's a forced choice which is (like I said before) exploitative and money hungry. Why should I have to pay the same amount of FC for an item that will be lost to the wardrobe of one character forever? if I like it and want to change into it without having to trek to Flaris to do so, I have to buy it twice. If want to play another character, I have to buy it again.

Wardrobe needs an immediate overhaul and I've commented in various suggestions ways it should be changed. We need to move away from the continued P2W push when suggesting changes. I myself am 'guilty' of altering my own suggestions in a way that might make them more 'agreeable' to them to implement but I'm about done with that now.

If they want this game to survive they need to make more significant changes.

I 100% aggree with you when it comes to provided space regarding premium Items. I mean I have a total of 9 different types of (low) sprint/velo scrolls in my bank. When they don't stack, there should be at least a different Storage room to put them in, so they don't waste that much space. Because of space Issues I didn't claim the attendance reward Sailor Set back in the day. (In the end I just missed my chance to claim it, didn't claim it earlier, as my Inventory was filled up enough anyways)

I'd also say, that the wardrobe should be account linked. The Items that you transmute are account linked anyways, so an account linked wardrobe would be a nice QoL change, that doesn't even change any existing mechanics.

Before transmutation was a thing you had to choose between style choices and usefulness of your CS Set. This changed when Transmutations were added. Now you get a useful Set with your desired skins. (when they actually come on rotation)
After the transmutation Update, speed sets became just another tool for your character, so a drop in quality of new released sets isn't even that big of a deal, as they keep their purpose of providing you with said speed bonuses. Good looking sets would be nice to have, but bad looking ones have no drawbacks. (In terms of transmutability)
I see the Issue you have, if your goal is to get a diverse fashion collection. You shouldn't be forced to put them into a wardrobe. However I still think you should destroy the items, if you want to wear them on top of a speed set/set with bonuses generally speaking. If there is no cost/drawback to transmute a useful Set with another Fashion Set, the Quality of the useful set doesn't matter anymore at all

You can't even breathe in this game without paying fCoin or Penya, let's stop cutting ourselves off at the knees and beginning our asks by "please let us pay fCoin/Penya for this super fundamental basic quality-of-life change".

And @velvet mantle:

If there is no cost/drawback to transmute a useful Set with another Fashion Set, the Quality of the useful set doesn't matter anymore at all
This is already true. The useful set (speed sets) only matter as far as their % and if you can get it as cheaply as possible. A few of them look decent, the vast majority do not, and are only useful as something to stamp a transmog on.

While I think skinning shouldnt exist in the first place, I dont see a reason why it shouldnt cost FC to remove skins. Its a non p2w feature that only exists to flex on other people. Servers need to be paid somehow, so make someone pay for it somehow. Why not via completely useless fashion upgrades

And AAAAND i used to be able to transmute wand skins over my obsidian wand and it would make them shiny, now at least with the clockwork wand it doesn’t anymore. Give it back. I want the shiny…

On another note, this entire system needs a rehaul. Separate fashion tabs, allow fashion to be completely separate from normal items in your inventory. If you want us to pay do it with wardrobe pages, but don’t force us to pay to remove a transmog and also allow us to keep/ restore our items, we paid for those.
