Confusing question, what are you doing outside of reviews?
Yeah, we need some clarification. Why are you in the app for an hour if your reviews only take 20 minutes? What are you doing?
I think it’s just the time between each review
Because of the ten minute and one minute waits
I still don't understand. What do you mean time between each review?
Once you grade a card, you should get the next one immediately
What's your learn ahead limit set to?
ahhh, I think Rose has figured it out.
if it is in fact the "downtime" while waiting for new cards to show back up, either increase your learn ahead limit (follow Rose's pictures if you're on android, if you're on iOS/PC and need help figuring it out feel free to ping me with which platform and ill take some screenshots)
alternatively, if you don't want to increase your learn ahead limit, you could leave it as is and do anki in multiple short spurts throughout the day. E.g., do the first round, anki tells you "you still have cards to review, but the next one wont be available for 10 minutes" then just take a break from anki, go do immersion or whatever chores/work you need to do, and come back to anki later to finish up reviews ^^
Thank you to everyone in this thread, I was having the same problem!
I also learned what the heck the "learn ahead limit" is after 3 years
you and me both shiki lol. I only learned it a few days ago when I had to update from yomichan to yomitan and was reading Kuri's guide O.o
Nice
2 minutes
Do I just put it on like 20 minutes so I can just do everything in one sitting?
depends on what you think works best for you.
if you want to be able to just finish anki in one sitting, set it to like 999
if you specifically want the feature of anki showing new things to you spaced out throughout the day, leave it at like 0 or 2 or something small.
there is no generally correct answer, just whatever works best for you
Will it affect how I memorize and remember things?
Setting it to like 999
