Yup, immersion is the main way you learn words, and Anki can help speed up the process.
If you haven't already, make sure you check out all the resources linked in #❗start-here , which goes into more detail about how to learn hiragana, katakana, and vocabulary.
i ment learning the katakana alphabet through romaji (like i learned the first aplhabet hiragana or not
but this helps thank you
it really doesn't matter how you learn the katakana
i learned them through reading manga, some drill them, some learn them at the same time as hiragana, etc
And how do i imerse properly?
you open youtube / aniwatch and play a video, you open a manga or a book and start reading it while doing some lookups
there should be answers in the refold guide
Ah okay thank you
first, read the guide on refold.la

If you learn Japanese only through anime or visual novels I'm sorry but you need to get a grip. Take a test booster or something, that might help :)

"4 hours bare minimum or u shouldnt learn japanese" isnt a great take. Ignoring this, the rest of his video is somewhat helpful. I also dont agree with his take on anime. I wouldnt recommend that video to any beginner...

This is one of the greatest phrases I've ever heard. I'm not one of those people who can promise themselves to stick to some hobby for 5-10 years. But I most likely can stick to it for 2 years. Well, then 4-6 hours a day is a proper number to target.
Im happy if that works for you. But its bad advice for any beginner, since in the beginning 4 hours can be quite difficult to sustain, unless you dont have any other obligations (family, full time job, etc)
