#How to improve listening without using subtitles as a crutch?

you could try closing your eyes for brief periods of time so that you only get some of the visual input
That's fair. I don't know of any tech solutions so the only answer I can provide is to switch to something else that fits your immersion needs better, that you still enjoy
Which I know isn't the most helpful
it is like that that i cover subtitle, but it is for pc
for android i use a card, i bend it so that i can cover it better
for youtube android, i can use "audio track" button, idk if it works for everyone
it is easy to say that but eyes will look at it accidentally xd, due to panoramic vision
i think you should use other content for listening, specially one that doesn't have subtitle
Do you have any kind of specialist knowledge at all? Idk what level of education you have
For example if you're into music you could watch guitar lessons or smth and connect the dots
I just mean for input. If you have better than average knowledge about something, then using the basics of that thing for input (probably) isn't such a bad idea
It's like a domain that you've already done some of the work for in your native language
Since you're doing comp sci you're probably also doing maths - you could try find videos to help with your homework since I believe the symbols used for algebra / calc are the same in japan
Beat me to it lol
No worries at all
If you like let's play videos Pocky has a good amount with little text on screen
hello, as the local listening guy
I would say to watch things without any subtitles at all
You cant really get around the fact that games are based on text
so I would ask what do you want to get good at listening for?
do that
If it’s for talking to people then you should be able to get a decent amount better just by stalking peoples conversations and talking to them
