#Valkyria Build Help
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i see
I'm just annoyed every chat is dog-pilling me and attacking me for my choices. Its very hard to get any help.
CPU: Overkill to several levels of extreme for gaming
Motherboard: Straight up missing
RAM: 2x16 is cheaper
Storage: Straight up missing
GPU: Fine
Case: Overpriced and not that good
PSU: Overpriced for what it is
I know they are missing I left them blank on purpose.
The build is interesting for sure, what are you planning on doing?
I want it to be overkill. As for ram I want 4 sticks cause it'll be more RGB. The case is for the corsair RGB software, I want to have it all linked and controllable.
have you thought about using different RGB syncing
also your GPU won't sync with the rest of the PC
I couldn't find one as advanced or wide spread as corsair's.
yeah i wouldnt get corsair just for rgb
The whole ICUE thing interest me.
A lot of RGB devices support several different software
Its that and I've had their cooler and ram for ages and its never failed me.
So I trust in them I guess.
Corsair is quite a closed system for RGB
As for the PSU it had the touch screen and I want a Platinum rated PSU. Bad experience with a gold rated and I guess I refuse to do lesser now.
I guess its all a bit silly I just kinda like that stuff.
rating doesnt really mean anything as they can be faked
^
Thermaltake
model?
Came faulty and used to make my pc restart if i was playing certain games.
Lemme look
do you need WIFI
750 Watts - Thermaltake Toughpower - 80 PLUS Gold, Semi Modular Power Supply
Just sending a message to pin this thread, don’t mind me
I have a Wi-Fi Card already.
I'm stressed as Prime Day ends in a day and I'm stuck In-between wondering if I should keep waiting till I've learned more and newer stuff is released.
Which model is that?
GF1?
No idea I got it in 2014 with my pre-built.
That's all the info it had on the sheet.
@quasi sierra https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y7JTzf all controllable by MSI Mystic Light
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Lian Li LANCOOL 215 ATX Mid Tower
I see
every single piece of RGB in there
theres also still space for a better gpu
Interesting list.
unless a msi one is overpriced
Does amazon do sales like prime day often or just sales on parts in general?
I went with a more expensive GPU so it synced with the rest of the PC
I feel very pressured to act now I guess.
prime day is once a year
so the deals are never as good?
depends
but since you wanted RGB sync I made a list where it is all controlled by 1 software
Also if anyone wouldn't mind I could use a friend to add. As I don't know anyone with much pc expertise and this is likely something I won't decide on today.
As for your list it looks nice in terms of appearance and I've heard of the brands. Just not familiar with them and that makes me nervous.
I'm unsure if I should wait for the 4000 series of gpus.
Corsair locks you into their line for RGB. A lot of RGB devices usually support 4 or 5 different software
As the games I'd be playing in 4k already suggest a 3080. And I bet the new releases won't handle well on it if they suggested it 2 years ago.
get more options for RGB when not using Corsair
Like what?
all of that
That AIO is compatible with 5 different RGB software
Most RGB AIOs will support MSI mystic light
And you say its superior to corsair's?
And literally everything in between
you get more options
instead of being limited to just Corsair AIOs for RGB sync. You can usually pretty much 90% of AIOs on the market and still get sync
Best performance is gonna be EK or Arctic
galahad is up there as well
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/svkgXL/ek-ek-aio-240-d-rgb-6604-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-ek-aio-240-d-rgb 1 dollar more
So all the RGB can link despite them being separate brands?
yes
Well, if you buy a asus motherboard but an msi gpu or something
They aren’t gonna sync
motherboard and GPU RGB is usually locked to 1 software
that is why I matched them up
Do you think now is a good time to buy or like is new everything on the horizon?
A lot of RGB devices don't even have their own software. They just support others
DDR5 Ram still isn't purchasable?
If you can wait a couple of months the 4000 series will be out
Ddr5 is out, but is quite expensive and not a lot of performance benefit
I was waiting but I fear I'll not get deals like this again.
You probably won’t
@quasi sierra This AIO doesn't actually have any RGB software made by that company
In fact, I doubt you’ll get a 4000 series at msrp until like
A year later
There’s always a gpu price spike at release
you need another companies' RGB software to use that
It sucks I can't just upgrade my PC but everything on it is so out of date.
They just piggy back off of aura sync (asus) or mystic light (msi) or something else
my i3 2100
Thanks for being friendly and helping me out also. The other Discord I asked in was extremely hostile. As for Prime Day. Like GPU's are on huge discount and it makes me wonder if I should try now.
Ouch that's old
multitasking is not an option
only maybe discord and a game
and even i struggle to run roblox lol
My one fear in all of this.
Is have 2200 dollars in my Amazon Wallet.
And I'm always worried they will delete it or something.
So that pressures me to buy something asap.
The amount of info on parts is overwhelming, especially with these Intel GPUs coming out.
Intel gpus aren’t gonna be for gaming
I personally would recommend buy now, the deals are pretty fantastic (as I found out in the chat with that 70 dollar 360 lol) and I doubt 4000 series will be cost effective anytime soon
What about newer CPU's and other stuff? Are they also right around the corner?
Sorta
Probably around September
4000 series gpus and intel 13th gen and amd 7000 are all coming like Q3 this year
But again, early adopter tax is one hell of a thing, probably going to be expensive as hell
Were in a tough "wait a few months or get a good system now" situation for all parts basically
I personally got a system now and will probably skip 13th gen and 4000
But that’s because I sold my gaming laptop and needed a system that wasn’t my mac now
Do any of you mind if I add you by the way? It be nice to have friends who know stuff and can talk to if I ever have questions. Hard to find friendly people in the pc community.
As for buying now Its stressful I hate being on a timer and I gotta look at all these parts now lol.
PC community is scary
How so
opinions and misinformation galore
A lot of assholes and elitists, hard to find people who can look at things in a perspective other than theirs
there is tons of brand loyalty as well
It’s a constant fight between people who think they’re smarter than everyone else
Don’t mind, but I probably wont respond much lmao
Always just ask in the public chat instead of dm, 4 minds is heater than 1.
I've seen way too many people start dming people who don't exactly know what they're talking about
I'll just add and if you wanna decline or accept its cool.
while everyone obviously has some level of loyalty. You need to stay objective
And I don't mean for like DM bias or stuff about parts.
Just never have the chance to meet others who like this stuff.
I don't care who's name is on the label
Normally the chats are toxic lol.
I just hope the current GPUs are enough for 4k gaming.
sorry if I originally came off rude
People suck
I have a friend who does 4K144 on his 3080ti, we’re there already
Next Gen will be better but we’re there already
Ti is a big leap?
From the standard 3080 12GB? Not by a whole ton
the 3080s I saw are 10gb.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/M6zhP6/evga-geforce-rtx-3080-12gb-lhr-12-gb-xc3-ultra-hybrid-gaming-video-card-12g-p5-4868-kl I wanted to suggest this card as it is faster than the gaming X trio I suggested, but it wouldn't sync with MSI
there are many variants
I know if I wanna play far cry 6 it uses more than 10gb vram.
Still not a huge jump from the 10GB variant
Yeah, that was my my thinking when I bought my system
So that's one reason why I feel the current gpus aren't good enough.
12700kf and 3080ti are gonna do me just fine
@quasi sierra how does that 3080 I linked look to you
I play at 2k anyway
Don’t think that has much rgb anyway
I am a slight hybrid GPU fanboy I am warning you
Oh nah, FC6 is just insanely unoptimized
Is that a watercooled gpu?
yes
I totally would have gotten hybrid if I didn’t go sff
And that’s only if you’re using the extremely high res texture pack
I’m considering doing a custom loop in my SFF rn
Pricey lol
It’s soooo tempting
cheaper than the MSI GPU I linked
But probably not great for travel
wtf lol o.o
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wQNxFT/evga-geforce-rtx-3080-12gb-lhr-12-gb-ftw3-ultra-gaming-video-card-12g-p5-4877-kl there is also this as well
3080 XC3U Hybrid based
The hybrid card you linked has like
A line of text that’s rgb
Just set it to rainbow
Literally doesn’t matter lol
AIO fanboy here
FTW3 for $800 god damn
My other concern is I'll be moving soon and worried as I've never moved a gaming pc. So if I buy now i fear it'll difficult to move. But I bet I worry too much and they can handle it.
remove GPU and RAM first before moving
GPU and Cooler is what I remove
Since the card doesn’t have a heavy cooler on it
still a massive weight on the PCIe slot
I've heard to remove GPU but never the ram.
I’ve never removed RAM
I suggested AIO so probably fine there
I dropped my ram when Installing it once so I'm a bit spooked by the idea of damaging stuff.
Fair
I’m just throwing my SFF in a pelican case and doing carry on lol
Advantage of SFF
As someone who often moves his PC way too much, I always make sure to remove GPU and cooler
Except obv when it’s an AIO
AIO isn’t gonna get damaged in a move
Makes me feel better.

PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower
i really like that motherboard
If you’re really worried, you could also get some of that self inflating packing foam
I gotta look at cases and such. Also, I take it buying half a pc in terms of parts and storing it is a bad idea.
If something was faulty I'd be passed warranty etc.
Buy all at once always
@quasi sierra you mentioned 2200 on amazon. I assume the system has to fully be from Amazon?
My current was a pre-built that I replaced everything except the motherboard and cpu.
Yes as I've no other funds at the moment.
I've been saving gift cards basically.
one moment I have a list to fix
My luck they'd think I'm a scammer or thief based on my gift balance.
Legit been saving all my gifts for like 4 years.
I wonder how much tax will be on 2000 dollars.
that's the one thing that likely kill me on this.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2mw84s well GPU went up
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower
I could maybe use my Amazon funds to buy everything but GPU and keep using my current or maybe try that AFFIRM to get the GPU.
I've been wondering how that works. Pay monthly for gpu.
It’s just financing
What gpu do you have?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qFvNgb dropped 100
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower
gtx 1080 ftw.
It might not be able to handle 4k gaming
It can't.
Yea idk how 4k gaming would go on that
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WnrRsY/xfx-radeon-rx-6900-xt-16-gb-speedster-swft-319-video-card-rx-69xtaqfd9 how do you feel about AMD
@minor torrent check main chat
Seeing how it has more VRAM I likely better off.
Why Z690 Edge goddamn that’s pricey
Also, is there any good anti-dust cases?
That's a huge issue with my current build.
I get a ton of dust in my AIO fans and gpu.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4p7yqm most cases now have dust filters
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower
Most cases now come with dust filters but the best way to avoid it is by cleaning your room. Most cases targeted at low distance have no airflow
I see.
Why G6 1000 if you don’t mind me asking
Could do with a C750 2022 or G6 850

PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower
C750 should still be more than enough for the 3080 and 12600K
If you want an SSD better than A60, P31 also exists for around same price as the SN570
